245.0. "QuickLaunch V2.5 Problem." by QCAV02::CHENTHIL () Wed Apr 09 1997 06:14

    We have problem on Prioris HX 6000 with Netware V4.1 during
    installation. When we do express setup using Quick Launch V2.5-
    Ethernet card (embedded) works.

    But problem is Express setup partitions entire 2 GB as SYS
    partition. Same time if a custom setup (or conventional setup)
    is done using the ethernet card driver extracted from Quick Launch
    the following error message is displayed

"Server - 4.10 1586 Loader cannot find public Symbol MSMRd config space 32
Server - 4.10 1586 Loader cannot find public Symbol MSMRd config space 8
Server - 4.10 1586 Loader cannot find public Symbol MSMwrt config space 32
Server - 4.10 1586 Loader cannot find public Symbol MSMwrt config space 16
Server - 4.10 1586 Loader cannot find public Symbol MSMwrt config space 8
Server - 4.10 1586 Loader cannot find public Symbol MSM Scanbus Info
Server - 4.10 1586 Loader cannot find public Symbol MSM Search Adapter"

    Any ideas or solutions are welcome.

245.1Netware 4.10 Conventional install of NIC ProblemNETRIX::"Siwik@mail.dec.com"James SiwikWed Apr 09 1997 16:4218
When doing a conventional install of Netware 4.10 you may experience a problem
loading drivers that are not on the NW CD. If you load a driver and get
"Symbol" errors like "Loader cannot find public Symbol MSM...." you need to
apply patches to NW.

Newer drivers (drivers that conform to Netware's NBI 3.3 standard) require
functionality of the NW kernel that is only available when the kernel has been
patched.

Quick Launch Express install applies the necessary patches as a part of the
install process. Conventional install, by definition, is under the control of
the person doing the install and it is that person's responsibility to load
the necessary patches.

Patches can be obtained from @ http://support.novell.com/search/patlst.htm.
Look for a file named 410PT?.exe.
