413.0. "Tommy Lee Jones" by AKOCOA::LPIERCE (Happy New Year) Thu Dec 30 1993 12:08

Tommy Lee Jones seem to me one of the hardest working actors in the
movies, and he has gotten little to no credit until "The Fugitive"

I know he has appeared in tons of movies but I can't remember there names.
I just saw one the other day w/ Jones as a police detective and he is
investigating serial murders. His son is a computer brain and up on
all the detective work (more then his farther) it was a stupid movie, but
Tommy was great in it. I know he also plays a bicker a few times, and
Wasn't he in Silveraro?

All I can remember at this time is;

Under Siege
The Fugitive

What can you add?

He was in Black Moon Rising, a truely bizarre little action flick
featuring Linda Hamilton and a funny looking car.

Dark thriller set in Newcastle on Tyne
staring Jones (the bad guy American), Melanie Griffith,
Sting, and a northern Brit (the hero) whose name escapes me.
Damn! Have to go home and look it up. Movie was good

    That would be Sean Bean.

The movie mentioned in .0 about the serial murders was "The
slaughter of the innocents" and Tommy Lee Jones did not play a part in
the movie. The part of the FBI father was played by the same guy who
played the FBI head of Serial crime in "the Silence of the Lambs",
If you want to see Tommy Lee Jones in what I consider to be one of
his best performances check out "Lonesome Dove".

Tommy was "The Package" in the movie of the same name, starring
    	Gene Hackman.

And "Black Moon Rising" was a great movie.

Scott Glenn played the FBI agent/Father in "Slaughter of the
Innocents". Normally a title like this would be enough to put me off
of a film, but I was suffering from jet lag in a hotel and it was
    either HBO or CNN...MC

So was John Cleese. So what?

The question is, was Tommy Lee Jones in "Silverado" and if so, what
    character did he play?

413.15GODIVA::benceLeave time for the unexpected.Mon Jan 03 1994 14:026
Since Scott Glenn was mistaken for Tommy Lee Jones in "The Silence
of the Lambs", it is also possible that the same mistake was made in
    reference to "Silverado".

Horror/sf writer K. W. Jeter looks a lot like Harry Dean Stanton.

Some people say that horror/sf writer Tim Powers looks like Jack
Lemmon, but I don't see it. On the other hand, Gaston's comic relief
henchpeasant in Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST does look exactly like
    Fred Flintstone.

re .21, I was at a dinner a couple of years ago and a guy at a nearby
table looked so much like Harry Dean Stanton that I found myself
staring at him all evening until, at one point, I realized that he was
looking back at me with a "What's your problem?" expression on his
face, and I was forced to stop staring. Maybe it was K. W. Jeter. :-)

I can't believe it took that long for someone to bring up Nate and
Hays. That is a must see for any TLJ film. He is one of the actors
that finaly gets big and then you see old movies and relize that he was
in them and can't believe you didn't notice him.
413.34straying a bit from the topic65320::RIVERSStupid, STUPID rat creatures!Wed May 25 1994 14:0013
Nate and Hayes also has (as "Nate") Michael O'Keefe, who (for
TV/Roseanne fans) is Fred on Roseanne. Obligatory reference to him
also being Bonnie Raitt's husband. A couple other movie roles he's
been in was "Caddyshack" and "The Great Santini" (aka "The Ace").

For the 10 or so years that's passed between Nate and Hayes and his
role on Roseanne, he sure hasn't lost his youthful looks.

The first movie where he got my attention was "Rolling Thunder". Been a
fan since that one. It is on video for all those fans reading this who
might have missed it. Guarantee you will NOT be bored. He's always done
a great job in any film I have seen him in and now have a lot of
earlier films to catch up on.

Saw 'The Client' the other night and thought it was a good film so im
    going to read the book.
Tommy Lee Jones did ok in it but his character didnt really feature
    as much as i expected.
I've only seen a few of his films but the last two he was in that i
saw were a waste of talent where he was only a supporting character
rather than the star.(The Fugitive,The Client)
I think he should be cast more often as a lead rather than a support
...if you know what i mean..
