672.0. "Corrina, Corrina" by CRISTA::MAYNARD (The Front Row Kid) Thu Oct 06 1994 16:42

Stars Ray Liotta as a recently widowed (the film opens at the
funeral) advertising jingle writer who hires Whoopi Goldberg as a
nanny for his 6 year old daughter. Some nice performances, but it
is a VERY manipulative movie; i.e. if there is a scene that is
supposed to produce tears, the director pulls out ALL the stops.
There is nothing subtle about this movie. As such it makes a good
no-brainer, tear jerker, heart warming movie- but Citizen Kane it's
    not!
Notable for cameos by Brent Spiner (Data on Star Trek) and
Don Ameche (his last film), and some great cars (Film is set in the
    late 50's.)

I have to admit this disappointed me. I did however, think that Ray
Liotta was very likeable as the Dad. I'd like to see him take on more
roles like that or even the "good" guy in an action movie. The last
few movies he's done he's been kind of "weird" in them.

One note about the movie, I was surprised that it had old fashioned
racial tension in it. It just seemed out of place compared to other
movies that are out on film depicting racism. The movie had subtle
    racial tension in it.

Didn't the little girl also star in Andre the Seal?
