1102.0. "National Lampoon's Vacation movies" by VAXCPU::movies (Christie Brinkley) Fri Jun 07 1996 06:21

I don't remember the name or order of all the movies in this
	series, except for:

		National Lampoon's Summer Vacation
		National Lampoon's European Vacation
		National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
		.....

They all star Chevy Chase as the father/husband, who is quite
a clutz but manages to survive (along with his familiar,
which includes his wife played by Beverly DeAngelo).

Well now get ready for another .... CNN HN reports that filming
is supposed to start in September for:

		National Lampoon's Las Vegas Vacation

which will take the family all over Las Vegas, including on stage
	with Zigfred & Roy's Lions....

I wonder how old his kids are in this one....If you remember in the
first three movies the kids were different in all three movies, but
they were always the same age.

The kids are just one of the many reasons why these films
have gotten consistenetly worse. The first one was hilarious,
the second & third were OK to watch on cable, but I'd never
rent one or see it in the theater. I don't think I'll be
going to see Las Vagas Vacation either, even though I'm a
    huge Chevy Chase fan.

Chevy has been going down hill also, I miss the days of
Foul Play and Seems Like Old Times. Not to mention Caddyshack
    and Fletch.

Actually, I	thought Christmas vacation was the best. The 2nd one I
thought was a waste of time, but the first one was decent. The best
scene in the first one was when they show the whole family sleeping
in the car and then they zoom over to Chevy and he is fast
    asleep...that's classic!!

    	The 2nd had its moments:

    	"Look, Big Ben!"
    	"Look, Big Ben!"
    	"Look, Big Ben!"

And when they were conned out of their videocamera by the French guy
they asked to take their picture. Only to find later, that the
contents of the tape in it are made into a porno!

Christmas Vacation was on Cinemax last night.
I still get a laugh out of all three.

Chevy was interviewed by Barbara Walters awhile back. And knows
his career hasn't been doing well in recent years.

Hope it gets better for him.
