959.0. "UHF" by BUSY::SLABOUNTY (Act like you own the company) Tue Oct 24 1995 12:30

Weird Al Yankovic, Michael Richards, Victoria Jackson, Kevin
McCarthy, Billy Barty, Gette Watanabe, Dr. Demento, Belinda
    	Bauer, Anthony Geary.

Michael Richards is now Kramer on "Seinfeld", Anthony Geary is
[or was ... haven't watched this show in over 10 years] Luke
on "General Hospital", and Belinda Bauer was the dark-haired
    	evil doctor in "Robocop II".

Weird Al plays Norman, a guy who just can't seem to hold onto
a job for any length of time. So his aunt suggests that his
uncle, who has just won a UHF station in a poker game, let him
manage it. The station is hurting, so he can't do too bad.

And the movie basically consists of promos for a bunch of new
    	shows [action/adventure/game] that Norman creates.

    	And of course there's a sub-plot ... a rival network station
doesn't like the competition and wants to buy them out.

And I forgot to add Emo Philipps to the cast list.

He played a shop teacher who, of course, chopped his finger
    	off while using a saw.

I thought some of the promo bits were really good.

The talk show one, where the topic was:

Lesbian nuns abducted by aliens, and
	forced into weight loss programs...

cheers
