316.0. "Laserdiscs" by 51219::GARLICK_N () Tue Aug 31 1993 11:15

    As I've just started using Notes this morning, I'm a little confused
    about all the details. I'm also overwhelmed by the amount of entries in
    Movies and don't really have the time to plough through them all. What
    I'm, interested in right now are laserdiscs: where to buy them (I live
    in The Netherlands and outlets are limited), what people think of the
    ones they've bought, talk, conversation, opinions.

    If there is already such a topic in the conference, would somebody be
    so kind as to let me know where to find it. And if there isn't, is
    anybody interested in writing back?

    Welcome. Don't be overwhelmed - you don't have to read everything at
    once. ;-) You might want to read the first few topics, though; these
    will provide some information about the conference guidelines, and some
    cross-references to other conferences of interest (such as
    CLT::LASERDISC, which sounds like what you're looking for).

	I'm not sure which interface to NOTES you are using, but
	if you are using the character cell version doing a:

		Notes> dir/title=laser

	can help.  Of do a:

		Notes> dir/out=some.file

	and then you can use your favorite tool or editor to browse
	the list of topics.

	Happy noting ...
316.3where is this film?CSC32::J_KALINOWSKIForget NAM?....NEVER!Wed Aug 09 1995 15:5310

        Hollywood Knights is a recent dumb movie about a chess tournament
    with babes being murdered throughout the film.

    Hollywood Nights is a old Tony Danza movie from around ~1980, but I've
    been told it never made it to VHS or beta. What about LD? Anybody
    that belong to a Laserdisc club ever see this in a listing?
    Thanks!

    RE: Murder and chess

    Wasn't that one called "Knight Moves"? (Not to be confused with the
    1970s neo-noir film "Night Moves" (Arthur Penn) with Gene Hackman and
    Bruce Dern.)

    Yeah, 'cause I think the Tony Danza movie *was* "Hollywood Knights",
    which referred to the gang everyone was a part of (if I'm thinking of
    the right one).

    Funny movie, btw.
