1614.0. "Trail Riding in Albuquerque?" by TAGART::MCLACHLAN () Fri Mar 27 1992 14:14

I will be in ABO for a couple of weeks in April.I wondered if there was
any riding schools or ranchs where you can go and rent a horse by the
hour and go on an organised trail ride. When I was in Massachussets I
went to Bobbys Ranch in Acton. In the U.K. these type of places are
everywhere but it doesn't seem to be so in the states.Any leads.

    thanks Drew

Try calling, if they have one, the chamber of commerce of the area you
will be staying at. They usually list places to go if they are
    available.

Did you ever go to ABO? What is it like for horses over there? I am
trying to find out how much it costs to keep one there, and if there is
    any good riding.

Yes I did go,and I found a very good place for riding. It was called
Sandia Trails.I have address and phone number at home.It was a western
style place which had about 50 horses which could be rented by the
    hour,with or without a guide.I paid $15 for an unguided ride.I was
allowed to take out a horse on my own and ride along some trails up
and down the Rio Grande river. It was excellent. This is the only place
I have ever found anywhere (UK,Europe or US)which would allow you to
    take out a horse unsupervised.
