27.0. "Does anyone have directions to ????????" by GENRAL::LEECH (NEVER assume anything.) Wed Dec 05 1990 18:56

In order to make the note file easier to use and to keep this
information from being buried in other notes, I creating this note for
directions to different places (show grounds, vets, clinics, etc.).

I will be moving replies and notes that contain directions to
specific places into this note as I find them during the reoganization
    of the notes file.

27.3Flying Horse Farm in South Hamilton, Ma.ZEPPO::FOXWed Jun 24 1987 16:4414
THe dressage starts at 8:00 on Friday. Also, if coming southbound
on 95, take route 133 E, go south on route 1, left on Ipswich road,
right on Winthrop Street to end, left on HIghland St, its 1/2 mile
on the left. These are the directions from the Omnibus so hope this
    helps for those southbounders!

Have fun to all who go and Sherry, good luck to your instructor!

    Linda

P.S. For those going by Flying Horse Farm, take a glance at the
enormous drop type fence which is in the fields (partially obscured
by the trees), definitely a BIG fence!

27.4where in ashland is ponderosa 2?FRAGLE::PELUSOI'd rather be ridingWed Oct 25 1989 11:385
I am trailering my friends brothers horses this weekend from
Ponderosa 2 stables in Ashland to somewhere in Sudbury. Being
new to trailering, I don't like to bring my trailer to an area I am
not familiar with. Does anyone know of the exact location of this
    stable? Landmarks?
27.5Ponderosa 2 farm in Ashland, Ma.AKOV11::CHIASSONWed Oct 25 1989 11:5113
It's on Rt 126 in Ashland. If you're coming through Milford
it will be on the right hand side of 126 right before the new
shopping center. I think there is a Shaws' and a Papa Gino's
in there but I haven't been down there in a while.

Across the street will be a huge field with
lots of new houses set up on a hill (they may even be building
    in the field by now).

There is usually a sign on the street for the Ponderosa. I
know the place sits up on a hill off the street.

27.6talk to the folks you are moving horses for.LUDWIG::ROCKWed Oct 25 1989 14:1813
I do not know if this is the same place....but I seem to remember
years ago that it was located on route 126, if going from Ashland
to Holliston that direction it was on the left with a steep dirt
driveway kid of a mud hole.

Know this may not be the same place where you called it "2" I just
    knew it as the Ponderosa.

I would suggest that you talk to the friends of your brother, and
ask them exactly where and what the driveway is like and what room
    there is for turning.

    RE: .9

I was also concerned about not being able to show Adult Eq (it's
unrated AHSA, but rated NEHC), so I called before sending in
my entry. The answer was that it is not a problem, and if it
is, they will let me know. If it's a problem, I'll probably
    switch to the A/A division.

Has everyone noticed that I mis-stated the dates in my original
message? It's May 26-27, this Saturday and Sunday. Saturday
will be mostly kids - ponies, equitation, hunters. Sunday
will be mostly adults - hunters, but including green and non-TB
hunters that anyone can go in. The jumpers are also on Sunday,
exciting! There is a parking fee of $3.00 per car.

With three rings going at once, there is a lot to watch.
Directions: FROM 495: Take 109 East exit, to Medfield Center,
turn left onto North St. Showgrounds will be on left.
FROM 128: Take 109 West exit, to Medfield Center, then right
    onto North St.

Okay, we had success with the "Norfolk Hunt Horse Show Roundtable,"
let's find out who is going to Worcester Foundation Auxiliary's
19th Annual Benefit Horse Show (that's a mouthful!) this Sunday,
    June 3 in Shrewsbury, Mass.

It's got to be a lot of you, because with five rings and everything
from Arabians to Western Pleasure and the rest of the alphabet
in-between, it must cover the gamut of horse-noters.

I will be showing Cody in Adult Amateur Hunters and Equitation,
with my coach Bart Massucco from "Daybreak Ventures."

Anyone else going? Give the details.

Directions: The Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology
(showgrounds) is located on Maple Ave. in Shrewsbury. Maple
Ave. is west of Shrewsbury Center off Main St. (left turn), or can also
get to Maple Ave from Rt. 9 just east of Spag's (right turn).

Get on Mass Pike east towards Boston. Get off Pike at Rt. 128/30.
Stay on Rt. 30 - I belive 128 goes off to the right and 30 is straight
ahead. At light at intersection of Pike and 30 take a left. You will
immediately come to another light. Take a right here. Regis College
is on this road. Should be signs all over the place. If not sure, ask
    the toll collector.

the names of them I won't attempt to tell you how to use them.

    Re: .17

    Where are you coming from?

Sunshine Farm is off Rt. 126 in Framingham (or you can come in from
Speen Street). If you are in the Center of Framingham heading towards
Ashland, take a left after the RR tracks (can't think of the name -
it's Rt. 135). At set of lights take a right (go by White Hen and
Grossmans). Stay on this road for about 1 1/2 -2 miles. Sunshine Farm
is on the right. Restaurant is at top of hill, fields are down dirt
    road right after the restaurant.

To Sunshine Dairy & Farm off the Mass Pike -
Get off at 1st exit west of 128 - keep left, go to Speen street light -
Go south (right) on Speen St. - cross Rt.9, cross Rt. 135,
    3/4 mi. - Speen Street appears to split at a Y - bear right at Y -
Sunshine is 200 yd on your left.

Directions from Rt 110 (get to Rt 110 from your favorite exit off
    495) If you come off Rt 119 exit from 495, take a left at the lights
on 110. Continue through LIttleton into Westford. You will come to a
set of traffic lights in Westford; keep going straight on 110, past the
Westford shopping plaza. Take the first right after the shopping plaza
on South Chelmsford road. Fair grounds is about 1-2 miles down that
road, on the righ. Can't miss it.

If you get onto 110 from the exit after 119 (heading North) you will
come to the lights mentioned above in Westford. Left at lights, go
past shopping plaza, right on So. Chelmsford Road.

Take exit 26 off route 93. Go back under 93 and take what looks
like another offramp, and says Route 3, Plymouth. At the end of that
ramp you are across from McDonalds, go left and take your first left.
Go down that road, and take a right, (don't remember the name of that
road though). The back entrance to the fairgrounds will be on your

I'm not sure if it's the same place. It's got an indoor and outdoor

Yes, it is the same place. I know exactly where it is, but I dont know
how to tell you to get there from Westboro MA, I dont know where THAT
is. :-) It's called the "New Boston 4H Youth Center", and it's just
outside the center of town in New Boston. I know that doesnt' help
    very much. :-)

27.30Directions to New BostonGBLAUT::JANICKIV. Janicki DCE Engineering DTN 226-5980Thu Jul 22 1993 17:4425
    From Westboro:

    Either take Rt. 495 -> Rt. 2 -> Rt. 13 North or
    		Rt. 190 -> Rt. 2 -> Rt. 13 North

Rt. 13 will wind around up through the backcountry :-). I'd estimate
that it will take about 30-45 minutes from the N.H. border.

There are a couple of potential tricky places. In Lunenburg,MA,
Rt. 13 briefly joins with Rt. 2A (at the first stop SIGN after
you get onto Rt. 13). You take a right to stay on Rt. 13 and then
a left at the Exxon station.

Watch for police while going through Brookline,NH (the first
    town over the MA/NH border).

When you get into New Boston (you'll pass the Molly Stark Tavern
on your right), watch for signs to follow Rt. 13 to the right
over a river. The fairgrounds are about 1/2 mile down the road
on your left at this point.

    You can also take Rt. 495 -> Rt. 3N -> Rt. 101W -> Rt. 114W -> Rt. 13S
but I don't know the landmarks very well in that direction.

    Vicky
