Marge Kittridge has a handicapped riding program, I believe on the
Cape. I will try to find further information, or maybe someone
out their remembers the name of her farm.

    sorry,

Marge Kittredge is located in Boxford Mass, I believe the farm name
    is Windrush.

Macy Gotthardt from Stow Ma was heavily involved in the SIRE program.
She would be able to give good advice. (I can't remember what the
name SIRE stands for, but is a handicapped program and do love to
    get donations)

646.5Therapeutic RidingLEZAH::DOTYMichelle Doty, tech writer in MarlboroMon Jun 19 1989 20:1717
What can anybody out there tell me about riding therapy/riding for the
handicapped?
How does one learn this specialty as a career?
What qualifications does one need?
Are there college programs that teach this?
How are the horses trained? Is special tack needed?

The Riding School in Weston has been briefly mentioned here in this notesfile
as an organization that specializes in riding therapy, so I think that
would be one good place to gather information. Can anybody tell me
more about what they do before I inquire there? Any other sources of
information? I know I've read occasional articles about riding therapy
over the years, but I don't recall where.

Thanks.

Windrush Farm (I'm not sure of the town) has an extensive Riding for the
Handicapped program. The person to contact there is Marge Kittredge. I'll see
if I can find the phone number there.

I don't think the Riding School is there anymore. I donated my
horse to them and went to see him one day. The place was empty.
    Not a horse, person, nothing.

I talked to a person I used to show with who kept his horse there
and he said that the place closed (I can't remember the exact reason).

I did find where my horse was and fortunately he is just a backyard
pet. He had some foot problems and could only have light riding.

program called Challenge Unlimited. They are always looking
for volunteers to help out when groups come. The person to talk
to is Deedee 475-4056. They have a physical therapist who
works there but I can't remember her name.
