If you need to have a new car the lease scheme is pretty reasonable.
If you are happy to have a car that is not new, then it is generally more
expensive (as it only deals in new cars).
The depreciation incurred in the first few days that the car is driven on
the road is disproportionately high. The rate of depreciation falls
significantly after the car is a year or two old.

Depends on mileage and changes of circumstance. In my case, enforced
relocation to the Solent office from The Crescent blew my budget for
depreciation due to mileage.
