2461.0. "3 Cheers for LeasePlan" by WOTVAX::stus.olo.dec.com::HATTOS (Don't delete your Windows directory) Wed Oct 11 1995 14:54

I'd just like to put a note in here to express how impressed I am with the
people at Leaseplan.

I don't need to go into the reasons why, but they give me good customer service,
a very responsive and a breath of fresh air compared to PHH.

So well done Leaseplan!

I'll back you up because I reckon they're good eggs as well. On two
occasions lately they have been spot on with the customer care bit and
I have promised to put it in writing to them in thanks also.

2461.3Third cheer for LeaseplanCHEFS::ast060.edo.dec.com::geddesiIain Graham GeddesMon Nov 13 1995 13:1211
I agree, and supply the third cheer!

I am in the process of changing my car, and LeasePlan have been very
efficient and friendly (particular thanks to Richard Jenkins!).

The only delay has been in waiting for a quotation to purchase my existing
car, and this is dependant on PHH responding quickly.

Leaseplan gets my vote!

I agree totally, leaseplan (and especially Richard) were great when I
ordered my car a few months back. Due to Vauxhall being a load of cr*p
I changed my order loads of times until I finally settled on the one I
wanted. They were real heroes and must have been fed up with me
whinging on at them but they put up with everything.

They could teach plenty of people about customer care.

    Well done guys,

    Gary.

re.5:

Let me sum up...you are unhappy because you ordered at car with a leather
interior at an agreed price and you received a car with a leather interior at
the agreed price but for a brief period a clerk made a mistake and gave you the
impression you might get something for nothing?

I strongly suggest you withdraw your remarks about Leaseplan before they get you
into trouble.

Dave.

Surely since you told them that the car delivered had leather
rather than cloth, and they said "don't worry" it's their problem.
The fact that it was some clerk and not the big cheese shouldn't
make any difference - the clerk is as much a representative of the
    	company as anyone else.
So, all the mistakes are theirs and they should rectify them.

Okay, it's a simple view, but I like things that way :-)

I'm currently going through a car ordering procedure and things
are going well. Lease plan have been very helpful as have the garage
    delivering the vehicle.

    A couple of tips.

Keep a diary of all phone calls made and note the name of the person
you are speaking with at LP and the dealer.

Keep on the ball with LP. If they request info from you follow it up
    to ensure they receive it.

Check that the order is progressing without being pushy.

...also ask for the taxable list price at the time of delivery and
check it out. Keep it to check with the P11D so you won't be up for
any surprises on the amount you are taxed.

I think the phrase that could get you into trouble is...

    >>>bunch of thieving gits Leaseplan are...

In a public forum this would probably be libellous as you cannot
substantiate that Leaseplan has stolen anything from you. I don't know
whether this forum counts as public though. If it does I could also be
in trouble as it is also libellous to repeat someone else's libel, so I
heard once on Have I Got News For You.

    cheers,

2461.13Taxable valueWOTVAX::HILTONhttp://blyth.lzo.dec.comFri Apr 19 1996 19:296
But the taxman doesn't care, you got leather, you get taxed for it.

You get taxed on the VALUE of the car, not what you/Leaseplan/Bob's
    Uncle paid for it.

LeasePlan have been good to me (so far).

I took over a car last year which was due to go back in Aug 1997. Due
to my mileage (25,000 business this year) I asked them to move to
forward to August this year. No probs.

LAter on, I realised that I would do the 60,000 by June. So, I rang
them - No problems, they said.
"When should I order my new car ?" I asked.
"3 months before your delivery" I was told.
"Why, thats now " I exclaimed.

So I ordered a car to be delivered at the beginning of June.

It arrives next Monday.

Do lease plan know or is it just the garage thats been in touch.
LP don't like you taking delivery of a new car before the old lease
    has expired. Check it out.

that's what I thought, until I got my latest car. I gave LeasePlan a call and
said I wanted this particular type of car, but had to get my order in quick as
it was a special edition model, the only snag being that I had two or three
months to run on my current lease. They said, no problem, just go ahead and
do it (okay, so the previous car was a PHH one, but they didn't know that, at
least not unless whoever I spoke to was smart enough to figure it out!)

LP do know - it was them that rang me. I'm happy about the prices (as
happy as you can ever be) since it was cheaper than the equivalent
Vauxhall (Renault Laguna EAstate vs Vauxhall Omega Estate).

2461.19Working for me...WOTVAX::HILLNIt's OK, it'll be dark by nightfallMon May 13 1996 21:0319
So far the ordering of my new car has gone smoothly, as follows:

Pre-conditions - I'm on site in Holland, so contact is limited.

Then LP told me that Hertz allow surrender up to 3 months early at no
    penalty.
I arranged a test drive, without LP being involved.
I sent a mail for two quotes which came back very fats.
They talked me through as I tried to connect directly (ha! PC keyboard
mappings don't work) but they were apologetic and suggested a fax
order. No can do from here, so they said get the fax sent from the UK
and follow it up with an ALL-IN-1 mail to provide the electronic
    signature.
Within a week they'd got the approval from my manager's manager.
The order's now placed for delivery on 1 Aug. When I called and
explained that I'd need some notice to organise a trip back to the UK
they immediately passed me names and numbers for the dealer.
    9/10 I think.
