1257.0. "Petromizer? Any ideas?" by PAKORA::IJOHNSTON () Sat Oct 13 1990 02:55

    Does anybody know anything about "Petromizer". I have just seen an
    advert in a local car mart and was wondering if it is just another one
    of those "miracle no-gooders"! The advert says that Petromizer will
    increase horsepower by 11%, reduce hydrocarbons, reduce carbonmonoxide and
    increase MPG by 17%. It also says about being approved by the State of
    California.

    According to the advert Petromizer subjects the molecules to a magnetic
    field. This reduces surface tension allowing better oxygen mixture
    therefore making the fuel easier to burn.

    The product is priced at 56 pounds.

1257.1More power AND less consumption ???CHEST::RUTTERThe Red Mist comes downMon Oct 15 1990 11:4512
    I should think this is another 'miracle no-gooder' as you suggest.

    IF it worked that well, wouldn't it be used in ALL competition cars ?

    I can imagine a very slight benefit in improving the 'burn' of the
    fuel-air mixture, if it increases atomisation. If so, this could
    perhaps increase MPG and some emissions slightly, but to increase
    horsepower by 11%, that's some claim.

    IF you can find proof that it works, order one for me too...
