87.0. "Glossary of terms" by THATIS::LINDLEY (Strewth mate.....) Tue Mar 01 1988 15:57

I thought it would be useful to start a glossary of the terms used
when selling second hand cars, for the benefit of those looking
to buy one. You know the sort of thing.......

    FSH - Forged Service History
Nice condition for year - Awful condition
New tyres - Had two dodgy remoulds 18 months ago
    Reliable - Always breaks down
Genuine reason for sale - I cant stand this car any more
Would suit enthusiast - A total wreck
Genuine 30,000 miles - (also another genuine 55,000 miles)

    etc etc

Can anyone else add to the list ?

                 John

Needs no maintainance == Every part worn out and about to
                          fail.
Peppy performance == Goes great downhill with a tail wind.
Recently overhauled with a new turbocharger == Faster in all
                                               gears.
