169.0. "DS550 to DS900 Adapter" by NOTED::tunsrv2-tunnel.imc.das.dec.com::dfaust (Dennis Faust) Wed Apr 16 1997 22:00

I have a customer who is looking to displace an old DECserver 550 with modem
control, using DECserver 900TM units. WHat they need to accomplish this is an
adapter that will move the modem control signals from the 36 pin adapter (used
with the DECserver 550) to the appropriate spots on the DECserver 900GM 68 pin
connector. Is there an OPEN DECconnect giblet that does this? Is there a clean
solution?

To clarify (since I had a brain cramp), I will be using DECserver 900GM units,
to be able to mass connect the lines.

Dennis, i thought that even though i talked to you on the phone i'm going to
give the answer here to close the loop. There are two different cables tha will connect
Modems to the DECserver 900GM depending on how much control you need. The BN41A has the
68 pin connector wired to 4 25 pin D connectors. This cable has full modem control (RS232).
The BN41D has the 68 pin connector to 8 25 pin D connectors and only has 4 wire modem controll.

Hope this helps
