362.0. "The Official DEChead House/Room-Mate Match Note" by QUIVER::SIEGEL (The revolution wil not be televised) Wed Jul 14 1993 04:02

Allow me to take the liberty of starting a new note.

My housemate (Rich Becker, whom some of you may know from Slipknot shows, etc.)
and I are looking to fill a vacancy in our house in Framingham, MA. Our old
housemate moved out and we need to occupy the empty bedroom by August 1st,
although occupancy can begin immediately with no rent until August.

We live in a large, 70-year-old house conveniently located near Routes 9, 30,
126, and the Mass Pike. The interior is in great shape (hardwood floors and
nice wood all around). The exterior is currently being re-painted. We have a
living room, dining room, office room/den (with space for a desk and/or
computer), 1.5 baths, basement with washer and dryer, attic, covered front
porch, and front and back yards. And, of course, it is a deadhead household.
We have a nice landlord, too.

Rent is $300 a month plus gas (for heat and hot water), electricity and
telephone. 1-year lease.

Send me e-mail or call the house at 508-820-0284.

thanks,

adam

362.1Leom. Hills Log Cabin EMMI::SYMONDSWed Aug 18 1993 14:1448
<< Nice job starting this note adam, how did you make out? >>

The Leominster Hills Log Cabin Association (Me'n Rick) are
looking for a person to join us this fall.

The cabin sits on 4.5 acres of its own and indirectly abutts
the Leominster State forest. The hiking, x-c skiing, mountain
biking, blueberry picking, birdwatching etcetera enthusiasts dream.

The cabin is nicely spacious; cathedral ceilings in the living room,
kitchen and dining room areas which are all kindof open together
to form the main upstairs living area. A wood stove keeps this
toasty in the winter months. There's also a beautiful piano that
the landlord has left for us to use! This warm musicly enhanced
	country setting is the stress beater's dream! :^}

Out the front is the classic cabin style covered porch complete
with hammock and chairs; out the back is the uncovered yet
secluded back deck with the grill and garden. Also out back is
access to the endless maze of trails.

Living arrangements are two upstairs and one down. Rick has the
the apartment downstairs which leaves the upstairs available.
There are two rooms that will belong to the newcomer; one a little
bigger than the other but neither is huge.

Timeframe for moving is for October 1st, but this is somewhat flexible.
Rent is $300./mo. plus shared wood, oil and electric.
And, oh, by the way, there is a washer, dryer and dishwasher which
definately makes life a lot simpler!

The cabin is ~ 5 minutes from the rt 2/ 190 intersection for convenient
commuting needs. I take backroads to Hudson every morning which takes
me about 25 mins or so.

A little about us? Hmmm. Good fun, food and music are what I like.
	You can ask Rick he's into when you meet him ;^}

So please give a ring if you or someone you know may be a good match!

	Thanks,

Looks like Digital is making it difficult for me to leave with a new
job and possible promotion so I'm playing with the idea of moving to a new
setting, but with one-bedroom apt's going for $500-600 a month, might
as well just buy a house (which I am totally not at all interested in).
Sooooo, I am looking for a someone who is interested in getting a place,
or has a room to rent out.

I like to live frugally and value my privacy. Weeknights I am usually
busy at school or the library.....on weekends I try to get out and be
active during the days and I party hardy on nights. I am a neat freak
(not to the point of being anal though).

I will sign a 6 mos. maximum lease if desired.

That's about the extent of it.....if you or anyone you know is looking
for a roomie, send me some mail!

Hi. My name is Beth Krisak, and if this is being posted in =wn=,
I'm sure you remember me, the obnoxious one. Anyway, I'm moving
there sometime this summer. Don't ask why, I don't really know.
I'm looking for a place to live, inexpensive, safe, easy access to
public transportation, near Boston, with a group of liberal,
free-thinking, alternative, independent people in a co-op or cohousing
situation. I'm also looking for a copy of a liberal (weekly?)
newspaper that might tend to carry ads for such a place.
I'm also looking for a job, and a life. If anyone can help with
any of the above mentioned items, with the possible exception of
advice along the lines of "Jesus saves", please send e-mail to me at:
  krisak@comet.enet.qntm.com

Thank you so much. You don't know what a relief it will be to
get out of Colorado Springs. By the way, if you know of any
sign language interpreting referral agencies or interpreting job
opportunities, that would be helpful also. Live long and prosper.

    ????????????????????????????????????????????????

i know the political climate sucks here, and I'm sure Beth has her
reasons, but *I* find this line interesting to say the least.....
actually I can't wait to get out of the Springs too...but it's to go to
Alma and Tumbledown....BTW, Alma passed a new law last week...it's
against the law for it to snow in Alma from June 1 to Sept 1

    hi Carol!

    neat personal name... :^)

i can't be much help, but Beth asked for a weekly publication that
might give her some useful info... i'd recommend the Phoenix as a good
place to start... lots of classified ads with jobs/apts/etc... and not
very likely to include much "Jesus Saves" type advice... :^)

unfortunatley, i don't have easy acces to the Boston version... only
    the Worcester one...

Another place for her to check is the cork board outside the Harvest
Coop Supermarket in Allston. There are always people looking for
roommates, etc, most of them are veggie crunchy types.
I live right near it, so I try to remember to check this weekend...

the fine , if they can figger out to whom it is to be levied against,
is 3 days of sunny or balmy weather...no kiddin...this was in the
paper here....also said that Alma does not keep a record of snow fall
amount. Mayor Bob said "we can tell when there's snow on the ground, no
need to keep track of how much".

A faculty member I know at UCdavis has a son entering a master's program
at MIT who, big surprise, can't find a place to live in the Boston area.
I thought maybe you could help by posting this message on
Digital/Deahead, etc. electronic bulletin boards:

Easy-going, male MIT grad. student, competent in the practical world,
seeks place to live within reasonable commuting distance of Cambridge.
(Somerville? Allston? Redline cities?) Willing to consider sharing with
roommate(s), studio, or in-law arrangement. Help! Quick!

Please e-mail jawade@ucdavis.edu with details.

    	Hello all,

I have a friend (ex-Deccie) who is relocating to Mass from Colorado. She
will be working in Andover, and is looking for a room to rent near to
her work while she checks out the area for more permanent housing.
Figure on a couple of months.... She's good people, very quiet and
easygoing. If anyone has any leads on a room-rental situation, please
send me E-mail at FOUNDR::OUIMETTE, and I'll forward it on to her
(she's not currently on the net...)

362.15Housemate needed: Ashland, MANETCAD::SIEGELThe revolution wil not be televisedTue Feb 06 1996 21:1327
Hi,

We have a vacancy at our house in Ashland, MA. It is a 2-family house (2
people live upstairs, 2 live downstairs), and the vacancy is downstairs
(where I live).

This is a nice house with a huge, tree-lined back yard and off-street
parking, in a nice neighborhood. The landlord lives upstairs, and he's a
deadhead (like everyone else in the house). You would get your own
bedroom, plus a smaller second room that could be used for bookshelves,
stereo, computer, reading chair, etc. There's a washer and dryer, and
storage in the basement. Everyone in the house is in their early 30's
(except me, I'm still 29 :-))

Rent is $325 plus utilities, and you can move in March 1, or possibly a few
days earlier. For those of you who don't know where Ashland is, some
surrounding towns are Framingham, Southboro, Marlboro, Westboro, and
Hopkinton. Located near routes 135, 9, 20, 90, 495, and 128/95. Watch the
runners from this year's Boston Marathon run down the street in front of
our house!

If you're interested, e-mail me at NETCAD::SIEGEL or call me at
508-881-5256 in the evening.

thanks,

adam

Man, that last posting got me thinking...

[I work at Marlboro... If I didn't have to stay minutes away from my kids
& girlfriend in Lexington -- how perfect Ashland could be...]

I'm currently living in a 1-bedroom apt. in Arlington. Not living in,
though, 95% of the time. I actually live at my girlfriend's, except for
  - an hour each morning
  - an hour each evening
  - Friday evenings when my younger son sleeps over
  That's it.

700/mo for that is seeming pretty (*&(* ridiculous. I gotta start
scouting around, there must be a cheaper way to store (music) stuff and
  drop by a few hours a week. Even around Lexington/Arlington ... There's a
lot of cool people in Arlington, There Must Be A Way. - JayC.

Jay, I'm looking in this area (I work in lkg and live in Acton
currently) mainly 'cuz Ashland is too far. Maybe we could
work something up. I'm looking to move this spring sometime.
I'm currently spending way too much to live alone.

I'm also looking for a place to live, except I need to be somewhat near
LKG and U-Mass Lowell. Where I live now, I have two roomates and
they're both over 40 and they both are inconsiderate tobacco smokers.
I'm fed up with not being able to breath and having my clothes reek of
smoke all the time. Concord MA would be my #1 choice of locations, but
I could do Andover, Lowell, Chelmsford (ideal), Nashua (little far),
    Westford (ideal), Pukesbury...etc.
