This reminds me of the "Far Side" comic in which it says "What we say
    to dogs..."

"Come on Skippy, good boy Skippy. Roll over Skippy. Good boy."

and the next caption...."What they hear..."

"Blah blah Skippy, blah blah Skippy. Blah blah Skippy blah blah"

     Cracks me up... :-)

Or the way they portray a dog's perception of the world on the show
    "The Simpsons"....wicked funny :-)

Yeah, that Simpson's show when Bart was trying to teach the dog a
command (ie. sit) or the dog is history. Funny! "blah blah blah,
Santa's Helper, blah blah SIT!" The dog sat at the very end of the
show and has been with them since.

House training our dog was quite a turmultuous / emotional time for
all!! It sucked!! He finally got house trained to the extent of not
pooping in the house, however, we went through almost 10 months of the
dog destroying things at least once a week! Now he's exceptionally
good!! Hmmm??? Been like this for over a month now??? Could he be
mellowing?? He IS a pound pup. Perhaps he's forgotten?

very slowly " Puuuuuuuuuuttttttt tttthhhhhhhheeeee ccaaaaaaaattt

Some great Far Side's that are among my favs:

. The one that shows a doggy-diner, with patrons (dogs)
sitting at tables. Behind the counter in the forefront
is the short-order cook (another dog). Above the counter is
one of those round spinning thingamajigs with the orders
	  clipped onto it.

The orders say: 1 canned, 1 dry; 2 canned; 1 canned 2 dry; etc. ;-)

. Another shows the outside of a house and the surrounding yard at
night. In the sky are many flying saucers with dogs in them. At
the foot of the house is a dog speaking to his owner, who is standing
at the door. The dog says:

"Well, they finally arrived. Let's see YOU roll over a few times"

	  ;-);-)

I think the Far Sides with the animals are the best.

One of my favorites shows a couple dogs sitting patiently while a woman is
opening a can of dog food..one dog looks at the other and says "Oh boy! Its
 dog food *again*!" :-)

My favourite Far Side is the one with two cows sitting on a couch in
a room, watching TV, and a phone on the endtable is ringing. One cow says to
the other "There it goes again, and here we sit, without opposable thumbs."

I rememered another favorite, dogs again ;-)

	This time it's a doggy supermarket. There's a dog wheeling a
shopping car with a puppy sitting in it, and other dogs shopping
around some with carts, some without. They're in what looks like
a produce section, only the bins are titled:

		. Grizzle and fat
		. Bones (chicken bones removed)
		. Just about anything
		. Who knows ?

	;-)

    heres one I like....

A cat is putting a coin into a Gumball Mechine and starts to turn
the handle but its not filled with gumballs its filled with mice, we
see one mouse pointing down into the pyle of mice and screams "Randys

I love Larson too!

One I like is two vultures hanging out in the desert. one is wearing
a cowboy hat and is standing there facing the other vulture and both
are standing over a pile of bones. The one with the cowboy hat says,
"howdy howdy howdy I'm a cowboy".

Close, but the real caption is:

Hey everybody, look at me! I'm a cowboy!
    Howdy! Howdy! Howdy!

This became the theme at our friends wedding. Amy and I showed up
at the party the night before and were greeted at the door with
Hey everbody, look at me, I'm a bride! Howdy! Howdy! Howdy!
and so on. I got to be the photographer! Howdy, Howdy Howdy!

OK, here's one more that I have posted in the pool room.
This time it has nothing to do with dogs, and there's no caption.

The picture shows the field of vision which you'd see if you
were looking through a set of binoculars; ie, 2 adjacent circles
with everything else black. Inside the field of vision, or what
the person using the bino's sees, is a *huge* nasty looking hawk-like
bird staring right back with a mean look. The huge bird is sitting
in a nest filled with binoculars and tattered clothes!

Well, I thought it was funny. Doesn't seem to translate well into
words but it cracked me up!

Ken, that reminds me of the one where you see what you would
see if you were looking thru the ? of a rifle, a circle with
cross-hairs, everything else is black. There are two
bears standing in the target area - one is pointing at
the other, like "pick him, not me"!

RE: Far side:

There are some Far Side Memorial cube walls interspersed throughout
Digital Cubeland. Some of the bigger ones I've seen:

TWO1, about three ailses down from where the main entrance hall spills you out
into that huge cubeland there: their are about 100 of the those large full
color ones spread out on the outside of about six people's cubes. Its the Sase
ECO Coordination area, so duck for irate support engineers. :-)

SHR3-1, in the far northeast corner. Chris Fields outside cube wall, again,
duck for irate support engineers, since its yet another ECO Area. :-) :-) :-)

Me first, me first!

My current fav hanging outside my office is "Dilbert".

In the first panel, we see Dilbert's boss talking to Dilbert and a female
coworker:

"What the department needs is a slogan to inspire us."

In the next panel, he continues:

"Our new slogan is `We are Quality'!"

In the final panel, Dilbert's coworker has a glazed look in her eye, and
is holding both arms out in front of her like a zombie:

"Suddenly I feel like working long hours for no extra money."

Dibert's boss:

	"It's working!"

Mother Goose and Grimm - Grimm is standing and looking at an
electric cord coming out of a wall socket. The cord is frayed.
Grimm is *very* frayed. The caption: "Lesson #1: Snakes don't
	crawl out of electric sockets"

Calvin and Hobbes - Up in a tree, Calvin is sitting on a branch
leading back against the tree turnk. Hobbes is sprawled across
the branch in the typical feline nap position.

Patty has several C&H dead t's...we would spend almost all our party
monies in the parking lot every year in Vegas on t's and jewelry

C&H walking down Shakedown Street, looking at the street sign with I'M
STILL WALKIN....on the back, the street lites on in colors and C&H are
dancin with SO I'M SURE THAT I CAN DANCE

A GOIN DOWN THE ROAD FEELIN BAD t with C&H in a wagon racing down the
steep hill, on the back DON"T WANNA BE TREATED etc, and C&H spilled all over
    the ground

SUNSHINE DAYDREAM with C&H laying in the grass looking at the sky

Just C&H on the front looking normal but on the back making faces at
    each other, but in tye-dyes

many more that Patty wears that I can't think of right now

One I don't have but always liked was the BEFORE and AFTER..before
being normal looking after with dreads and tye-dyes

Not in to comics much. I especially hate the Cathy one. BC was/is
ok. Hart was from my hometown (the guy who created BC). There's
a big golf tournament ever year there (BC open - for broom county, ny)
and he does neat graphics for it. Also Andy Cap is pretty funny.

Cartoons are my fav. I'm still going through withdrawls without
PeeWee's Playhouse on saturday! He used to have the King of
Cartoons come out and play those old time cartoons, mostly
     in black and white.

Any good cartoons? Any new stuff.. ?

my favorite Bloom COunty was the one where the "guys" are sitting on
the "guy" couch in their underwear, drinking beer watching football and
making fun of women...the woman in the strip (a character that came
along later, can't remember her name) comes along and starts ragging on
the men for being so insensitive to women, for not sharing with women
emotion but instead being sarcastic towards the need for emotion and
sharing of true feelings (you get the drift) she ends up saying men
should "take a good, long look at the one thing that gives meaning to
their otherwise meaningless life" (meaning women).....they all pause
    and then....

they all look down their underwear.......

My favourite C&H is the one where Calvin's dad is explaining why old
photographs are black&white, while newer ones are colour. For those that
haven't seen it, the jist is that the world only developed colour in the last
few decades, and the b&w photos are accurate portrayals of the colour spectrum
at the time they were taken.

Zippy!

Bill Griffin grew up in the same town I was born in, though we moved
one town south when I was about 4. He occassionally re-visits Levittown
in his strip, and one time a year or two ago, had this thing with
one of his characters (Claude?) getting involved with a waitress
who lived on the corner of Starlight Lane, my old street!

I tend to read all the comics, though some be better than others.
I need my comic fix, though sometimes I save them for Friday's and
go through a whole week at a time.

It really is a shame PeeWee's Playhouse went off the air -- made me really
angry at the time. Those craven (hypocritical) cowards. I ask you, who
  set the worse example...? Anyway...

His show really talked to kids, and had better content and "values"
(production and family) than the other network Sat. AM swill at the time.

Those shows have been out on video ever since the show was still on --
I still rent them for younger kids occasionally.

Incidentally, PeeWee's Christmas special was one of the 4 or 5 best Xmas
specials ever... Best thing he ever did IMO. I have it on video, but
have been hoping it'll surface on commercial video so I can give it to
every family or Xmas special freak I know. - Jay

my favorite cartoon (it's on the fridge at home) though is Arlo and
Janis where their son is watching TV and he sense that his father is in
back of him disapproving of his tv choice (wrestling). The kid says
to himself "He's going to say I can't beleive you're watching that -
it's just make believe!" And sure enough Arlo says that and the kid
says to him "Why are you so hung up on what's real and what's not?".

Next frame the dad is sitting staring at the wall and Janis says
"what's the matter with you? you've been sitting there staring for
    over an hour."
