163.0. "Looking for an Old Noter" by BENONI::MCHUGH () Tue May 28 1991 23:28

I am looking for old GRATEFUL noter that has since left the company. I
can't remember his name, but I do remember some things about him that
might help people to remember him, and then help me get in touch with
    him.

He used to work in the Chicago Sales Office, as a PSS Consultant. He
specialized in designing RDB databases for customers. He left the
company to go do that on his own, because he coiuld make a lot more
money at it that way. I think that he might even be working as an
independent contractor that is working with Digital's customer's doing
something that Digital doesn't have enough trained people to sell that
    service to the customer directly.

I think his first name was Ken. He was about 30. I hooked up with
him at the '89 New Year's shows and sold him an extra ticket that I
had. I think that he was into taping?

I am going out to Chicago on June 6th and 7th for business and would
like to look him up. I would like to hook up with him to go to the
Deer Creek shows, which I think are in the Chicago vicinity. I would
appreciate any info that anybody can give me on the actual location of
    Deer Creek.

Are there any DECheads left in the Chicago Sales Office that might be
    able to help me?

If you can give me any info on this guy, please send me mail at
caboom::mchugh, or call me at DTN 259-7447.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Since we see this type of message often, I thought I tell you
about this notes conference, UPSAR::GATEWAYS. It basically tells you
how to get mail to places. You write a note, "How do I send mail to
Lotus", and someone answers with the path.

    So I checked:

I have found a way to get through to people at Lotus (only after
    pulling all my hair out):

    send your letter to:

    NM%DECWRL::"lotus!user_name@uunet.uu.net"

where user_name is the name of the user you wish to contact.

It has worked for me so let me know how you make out.

There have been problems as of late in Lotusland...

I know of no way to perform a trace.

BTW - other ways to reach Lotus are:

unixusername@lotus.com (if person has UNIX account or if UNIX mailbox
is being forwarded to VMS mailbox).

vmsusername@ldbvax.lotus.com (if person has VMS account).

They are currently working on problems from within Lotus. They
recently performed an upgrade on their UNIX system and MAIL became
    trashed.
