	Well, I got my Albany request punted... 8~{

First time, too.. Oh well, this is not a ticket grovel. I won't
be going to the shows. Almost too much of a pain to get tickets any other
   way.

Since I hadn't seen it elsewhere, I'm including the text of the new
message from the band sent back with the money order. Out of curiosity,
did the people who received tickets also get the same message?

============== begin band message ====================

						Spring, 1991

We are sorry to inform you that, due to the large demand, we were unable to
fill your request for the Knickerbocker Arena shows. Ticketmaster will begin
selling its portion of the Albany tickets on February 22. Good luck when
those tickets go on sale, and please take heed of the following.

A New Message for Dead Heads from Phil Lesh:

Dear Folks:

Much of this message will probably be familiar, but I'd like to add
something to our usual list of requests. Yes, it's still important for Dead
Heads to cooperate with certain rules -- it's critical that you not come to
shows without a ticket, and that you not arrive at venues before the parking
lots open. It's essential that we don't have business, legal or otherwise,
going on at shows, and in addition to the no-vending rule, the no-camping rule
must continue.

That said, I really want to urge everyone in the scene, all of us, to
be more mindful -- to be more conscious of the way we're creating our journey
together. In heavy times such as these, it seems particularly important to
act with some grace, so that we don't just survive, but do it with style.

						Very best regards,

						Phil/Grateful Dead

and in a manner that is very much in keeping with the spirit of
    Buddhism.

Most definitely! The closest resemblance I've ever seen! In fact, if you
watch the New Year's Eve 1987-1988 broadcast, they do a skit before the show
where Mickey is dressed like Spock and I think he does the Vulcan mind meld on
Jerry or something goofy like that. There was some funny dialogue too, but I
forget what was said.

a knit sort of shirt WITH a pocket and was a deep blue. it had wide bands
in it of the same color....

Chris - I think it might have been a JC Penny's shirt :) or maybe it was a

    YOU BET JC!!!
Met big joe at the wynkoop...he'd been sitting there looking at Ger
and bill&jules for a half hour thinking..."I should ask them if they
know randy" They left and we arrived 20 mins later. had lunch and
SEVERAL black-n-tans with him ( he drank the whizen), met some more
heads and decided it was too hot to cruise the parking lot, so we drank
more! Me, Patty and Joe road to the show and had to park ina Barrio NW
of Mile HIGH. Patty and BigJoe decided on the mushroom burgers whilst
i lent toward to more non-vegitarian fare on a paper plate. Into the
show where we had to split up cause Bigjoe had no floor seat, but we
decided to meet at a specific location afterwards.

afterwards.....and man what a time inbetween!!!!

we realized when walking back to the car we had probably parked in a
bad location. every corner had large gatherings of hispanics..some
around our car. "hey man, chew gotta a joint?"
"No, but have acouple of home brews!" Patty and BigJoe thought we were
gonna be stabbed. They got in the car and basically hid..
Me, in my frame of mind, started partying with them and
"valuing the differances"...soon they were calling me "homeboy" and
"esse". all was cool until one of the chicks grabbed a beer bottle from
her boyfriend cause he was flittering with another chick, and slammed
in into the street, glass going everywhere....that was our queue

                          SPLIT!!!!

no one said anything for 10 mins, then we looked at each other and CRACKED
    UP!!!!!
Took Bigjoe home and had a crazy drive back to the Springs!

Children, don't try this at home!!!

Hey Randy,

THANKS TONS for hooking up w/ and taking care of Joe. I worry about him
because he has a difficult time seeing straight, especially after eating
a mushroom hamburger! Sounds like you guys had a *GRATE* time! I'm gonna
print & send your little review to Joe... I think he'll like it.

BTW, he's headed back to N.E. Aug 1, for good (so he says).
