Bob Weir and Rob Wasserman -- 5/15/91
 Riverside Theater, Milwaukee WI

  Festival
  Walkin' Blues
  (You give me) Fever
  Instrumental Jam
Casey (Not Jones, maybe Casey Road?)
Stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again :-)
  Artificial Flowers
  Young Blood *
  Maggies Farm *
As Time Slips By (?) ->
Out In The Streets (?) ->
Some really cool but unknown tune
  Bass Solo
  Victim or the Crime
  Throwin' Stones

  E: Misty :-)

  * With Susan James

What a fantastic show! Susan James was a great opening act, really
mellow, with a voice somewhat like old Ann Wilson from Heart.
The crowd was really into her, and she seemed really happy to have us!
Asked if anyone ever hallucinated before! "I should have known, with this
audience!" The security was also mellow, dancing in the aisles was
cool as long as you had a ticket reasonably close to where you were dancin'.
Bobby's voice was hot, with lots of screamin'. Festival started everyone
dancing right off the bat, followed by a strange Walkin. Must just be used
to hearing the whole band on this one. The instrumental jam was not at
all spacy, rather sounded very familiar, but couldn't place it, ya know?
I would imagine Casey is the same song that was played last night,
not Casey Jones, but some other song I've never heard before.
Finally got to hear Stuck Inside Mobile after seeing in on the net in
setlists for so long. Susan came out for mandolin and harmonies on Young
Blood and Maggie's. Next was a 3 song segue of songs that I didn't know, hope
the titles look somewhat familiar. Great bass solo by Rob, he sure can find
a lot of different sounds for 1 instrument! The ending was somewhat expected, but fantastic none the less. Victim is surely a different song acoustic, and
in Throwin, when Bobby wanted you to stop and think about a line, he'd just
stop playin and say it right too us. Then the Misty encore, almost brought
tears to my eyes :-) Yea, it sure is great to have one of the boyz play
close enough that I can drive to see them after work!

  Take care all,

I was hoping somebody else would get to this, since I am not sure of
at least one of the song titles. Anyway, here is my list:

Set I. 2026
How Sweet It Is
He Ain't Give You None
That's What Love Will Make You Do
Love in the Afternoon
Second That Emotion
Like A Road
Sisters and Brothers/
Let's Spend the Night Together 2146 (80 minutes)

Set II. 2237
The Way You Do the Things You Do (!!!!!)
C'est la Vie
See What Love Can Do (?title?)
Waiting for a Miracle
When the Hunter Gets Captured by the Game
Tore Up Over You
Everybody Wants Somebody 2349 (72 minutes.)

Jerry had a music stand to which he frequently referred. The exclamation
points after TWYDTTYD are for the jam, during which I completely forgot
which song was being played. Wow. R&B is such a great source for JGB - I
hope Jerry gets inspired by the new Stax/Volt collection.

In other unrelated news: I picked up DB '90 at the Psych. Shop before
the show. When I got home, I made the mistake of opening it for a quick
scan - and didn't get to bed until 3am! Fascinating stuff. The Reviews
section serves to illustrate the point made in this group recently about
the SUBJECTIVE nature of such articles - check out the flame of the
Hamburg show by Jeff Silberman. He actually makes the claim that one is
lucky not to own tapes of this show, and those who do should burn or
erase them. (??? Burn Dead tapes ???) I believe there was also a line
about "just how bad them boys can be." Too bad for him - from where I
was dancing my ass off, it was a *long* way from a bad show. True, it
was not Zenith quality, but the atmosphere and the venue were so much
more pleasant than Frankfurt, and there was a *lot* of dancing room in
front of the soundboard for once. (Tim Dalton's point of view, though a
bit less enthusiastic than mine, was much more reasonable.) It was kind
of weird to read a review which so viciously trashed a show that I
enjoyed immensely. Yeah, subjective is right.

P.S. This was a hot show!! I had 9th row center seats and Jerry was
really relaxed and smooth. Strong voice for the last show. I think
he wanted to end on a good show - becuase he seems to like this band
A LOT!!!! If anyone knows where I can get tapes I would be very
grateful!!! I have plenty to trade.

E: Spoonful (w/ Michelle Shocked [mandolin, 1st verse] and Bruce Cockburn
                [electric, 2nd verse])

* - Weir on electric

In the parking lot around approximately 6:30 last night, a group of young
people (early 20s) were having the typical "parking lot" acoustic jam
session -- with Michelle Shocked and her fiddler brother Max sitting
in.:-) Stood three feed to Michelle's right, as she chipped in mandolin
on a traditional fiddle stomp (with her only lead vocals of the session), a
fun Weight sing-along, the Beatles' I Want To Hold Your Hand and Help, Simon &
Garfunkel's 59th Street Bridge Song and Cecelia, Eyes, and a few originals
by the two young guitarists. The results were obviously rough, but that
wasn't the point: This was all for fun, and the spirit that kindled
from this jam session felt truly special. Unfortunately, Michelle's
road mgr. prevented us from obtaining autographs, but the whole scene
was *way* cool.

Bruce Cockburn opened first, with a driving 50-minute set, capped by a
poignant Waiting For A Miracle closer. Michelle Shocked was great, although
the setlist and order were pretty similar to Darien Lake, with a few changes
here and there. Still, a lot of fun, and she referenced the parking
lot jam in the intro to one of her songs.

Really nice W&W set all the way through: for me, highlights were the
Bombs Away opener, another nice Blackbird, a sweeeeeet Looks Like Rain
(the *only* one I've had this year), Eternity (I am really digging this
tune, folks -- Wasserman was all over this one!), the jam out of Victim
that contained plenty of Other One traces, and a welcomed Josephine
set-closer (yea!). Actually, the Rockin W's started to segue into
Throwing Stones when one of the roadies cut them off. Rob responded
with a *big* thump (hilarious).

The Spoonful encore was a delight: Michelle Shocked confidently handled
the first verse, and Bruce Cockburn's second verse had its own verve. Bob
complemented the two nicely, and the four shared harmony vocals on the
choruses. All appeared to have a good time, as Shocked was dancing in her
own little circle, and Weir appeared to like Cockburn's subtle electric
leads.

Hung out in Bob's "firing range";-) - sometimes on the rail, sometimes
one row back from it: complete with excellent up-front view. Crowd was pretty
casual, sans a couple of loudmouths here and there, and a rude asshole who
tried to crash his way into our spot between the Shocked and Weir sets,
giving the excuse that "But Michelle Shocked is coming on." "She already
played, man!". The guy attempted to instigate a fight with a Rochester
friend I was with, but I intervened, telling the guy that we had been
here *all* show, and politely told him to leave. Otherwise, all had a
great time, and Weir gave another sound performance (complete with brief
lyric slip-up on Maggie's, and almost on Bombs Away;-).

this is from memory, but it looks right. Pretty low energy show, but
there were a few standouts. 1st set highlight was a scorching Deal.
2nd set was a little better - Tore Up was very hot and so was Lucky
Ole Sun. All in all, nothing really special, though. Big spider hanging
down over the stage all night.

does someone want to consider changing the title of this topic to Ratdog or
Bobby Setlists? I don't think we are going to be seeing any new Jerry setlists.

I suggest making a new topic for RATDOG....this topic does contain many
Jerry setlists, so the title still aplies.....

yeah, I would be interested in seeing Ratdog setlists.
I sometimes read them on the internet, but sometimes I don't
get them. If someone in here is getting them, I, for one,
would like to see them posted here...

Before the announcement last week, Bobby was saying in interviews
that he was going to leave the Dead's songs for them to do (although
he was already doing some in his own band anyways)...then, was it
the day or week after the announcement?, he did "One More Saturday
Night" with Ratdog. I'm just interested to see what else he will
	start doing with his band...

...and I hear the ghost of Bob White over my shoulder saying
	"NO Digressions!" - uh oh...

really? If so, that's great to see a "regression" (or is that
    digression?) *back* to dead songs,
sure it wasn't that song he does called Shades of Grey , or
    something like that??
