2581.0. "Defpa-aa Firmware update v3.9 failed" by STU03::BEYER () Thu Apr 17 1997 14:23

    I did a firmware update on a sable with vms 6.2-h2 with firmware V3.9!
    update for arc and srm was successful but failed for fwa0 *DEFPA-aa
    board.Idowngraded to firmware v3.8 and fwa0 version was blank.
    Fddi Adapter [fwa0] was not seen anymore and i had to replace the
    defpa-aa adapter.
    Has anyone an idea about this problem or a hint.Thanks Wolfgang

	If your saying.... using the 3.9 CD you updated the firmware, but got
an update failure. Then you exited LFU. Booted up the 3.8 CD and it couldn't
find or update the FDDI, your problem is a defective FDDI.

	The way LFU updates the FDDI is to feed it the data and then tell
the adapter to do the update. If it fails there, the adpater could become
useless and requires it to be replaced.

	If the above flow I described is different, like you wer able to
sucessfully update the adapter with the 3.8 CD and then it became useless;
please reply.....
