2553.0. "Dust (particulate) size - 2micron vs 5 micron" by BBPBV1::WALLACE (john wallace @ bbp. +44 860 675093) Fri Mar 07 1997 16:04

    A customer is interested in the particulate matter (ie dust) specs on
    the 2100 (and specifically the 2100RM, though I doubt if it makes any
    difference).

    "Someone somewhere" in DEC told them that for the 2100 we expect a
    2micron filtered environment ie negligible pieces of flying muck whose
    size is over 2 micron. I don't recollect seeing this spec anywhere but
    that's another story... Anyway, their deployed systems will be in
    environments where 5micron filtering is all that is available.

    Anyone know whether they should be worrying? Or, alternatively, whether
    anyone in 2100-land may be able to comment ?

    All info gratefully received.

    regards

    ps
    the customer says the 2micron figure is on a "certificate of
    compliance" we gave them... I have no idea what they're talking about.
