2537.0. "Mix rev B02 and C03 CPU's? Problems?" by SCASS1::GRESS () Wed Feb 26 1997 22:49

    I have just upgraded one of my customers 2100 that was running VMS. I
    took out a EISA RAID and FDDI card and put in PCI RAID and FDDI card.

    I then added two additional CPU's so now it is a 4 CPU system.

    The two CPU's that where in the system where rev C03 and the two that I
    put in where rev B02. Will this cause any problems? Should the CPU
    boards all have the same rev?

    The reason that I ask is that they just called and said that when they
    try to install NT 4.0 server from CD, it comes back with 'Can't
    identify CPU chip' and then they pick an Alpha system from the list.
    Then in continues to install but then locks up.

    I did load Firmware 3.8 on this system.

    Thanks in advance for any help in this.
