2514.0. "SCSI 18 Error again ?" by BROUGH::DAVIES (Hype is a 4 letter word !) Fri Feb 07 1997 11:46

This seems to be follow on from 2475 but is different.

Two Systems which are identical
	AS2100A 5/300 Dual CPU 512Mb Memory.
	2 KZPSA rev A10
	2 Memory Channel
Running latest ECU code. dated Nov 1996.
	Two HSZ40's V2.72

On powerup, everything is ok. System boot into TRUCluster ok. Shutdown one
all the way to >>> and then try to boot again or access the HSZ40 disks
again and you will crash.
If you do an >>> init the read of the disks fails with the SCSI 18
message but importantly only on the first unit on the HSZ40's (unit 0).
Units 1 & 2 are ok.

The only way to sort the problem is to shutdown the other System and
power cycle the HSZ's. However the other System is still able to access the
supposedly bad drives prior to shutdown. After shutdown this exhibits
the same symptoms as the first and reports the SCSI 18 error.

No errors are reported by the HSZ40's.

Any comments ? Should I recommend that the systems revert to an eariler
version of ECU code ?
