    You mean that 3-CD thing?  I understand it is 2 CDs of music and one of
    interviews.  I think the 4-CD box set is much nicer, but of course it
    probably costs a bit more.  I got mine for $37 at Costco (one of those
    membershup warehouses), but that's probably lower than most places have
    it.  The 4-CD set is about 5 hours of material -- and it's all
    remastered, so they sound a *lot* better than the CD releases of the
    individual albums.

I've seen it both places.  Noteworthy lists it for $52.46 (54 tracks/4CDs).

    I'm a happy guy!  I was in Lechmere last night and was flipping through
    the CD singles (something I rarely do).  Mingling amongst the En Vogue,
    Depeche Mode and Madonna singles I found a lone single of LZ containing
    the "Immigrant Song" and, oh yes, "Hey Hey What Can I Do"!  Oh joy. 8)

	That being my motto in life, I think I have waited too long to
	get the four CD box set. 

	Saturday, I bought it for CAN$66.98+%15 and I am very glad I did.
	Whole Lotta Love took me back to highschool days, it was the
	irreplaceable party ingredient. I don't know how many times I've
	listened to it, but enough times to have that "tata tata dum te te
	dum te te dum, tata tata dum te te dum te te dum, tata tata dum te te
	dum te te dum" permanently engraved in my brain.
	
	I think this is a much better deal than the 3 CD set in which one CD
	is the interview. How many times can you listen to an interview
	anyway ? Besides, the 36 page booklet is a good reading, probably
	as good as the interview. This box also includes tracks that were 
	never released before.
	
	This is the first box set I ever owned. How do you store box sets ?
	It doesn't fit into the CD racks ;-) I have a problem here !

    	I also bought the Led Zepplin box CD several months ago, it's
    great. I load the CD carousal and enjoy 5-6 hours of memories.

I went to the very first concert of C/P yesterday. The follwing is the 
concert review which I and my friend concocted. The concert was satisfactory 
to me.(Not f**king great, though) At least, I was not disappointed like 
Atlantic Zep Reunion in 1988.

I went to the long-waited C/P concert last night with Toshiaki(he is also a 
subscriber of this list). Looks like the time has come to let you inform C/P
first concert at Budokan, Tokyo!

It's been 21 years since the last time Jimmy has come to Japan to have Zepp 
tour in Japan... a long time.

Well, let me describe the detail. 

Date, time and place;   Dec. 14 1993      19:00-  Budokan, Tokyo

          David Coverdale, Vocal
          Guy Pratt, bass
          Brett Tuggle, keyboard, synthsizer, 12 strings guitar on Pride and

Jimmy appeared wearing black tight pants and white shirt with a black vest.
Coverdale was wearing black tight leather pants and bright blue swallow tailed
coat.

Overall, Jimmy looks very vigorous, but seemed exhausted at the end of the 
concert. Coverdale seemed always try to pay his respect to Jimmy's guitar 
play especially when he played Whitesnake tunes.

Jimmy made several brief comments while on stage like "It is our pleasure to
play first time here" or something. I don't remember exactly. At the encore
tunes, Jimmy changed his upper cloth to white T-shirts with C/P mark on it. 
It's a bit strange, though...

It seems to me that Coverdale tried hard to copy Zepp songs from studio 
recording ones. And IMTOD was really impressive.
I think the concert itself was medicore to good level, but it is hard to 
define what is their excellet concert now, cause they played only once!
 
Basically I enjoyed very much and happy to see Jimmy's stage for the first
time....

    I'm not to up on Led Zep tunes but am intereted to know what the bass
    player Guy Pratt was like - he played for Pink Floyd on the DSOT tour

    The bass player reminded me John Paul Jones in regard to the
    apprearance and play itself. I didn't pay much attention to him(can't be
    helped), but he was okay, I think.

    re-union rumors are circulating...well, partial re-union, anyway...just
    Page & Plant...Mr. Jones wasn't invited...and the drummer, well he's
    dead, isn't he?
    
    

I don't get it.  Why wouldn't they want Jones?  He'd be the backbone of the
band now Bonzo's gone...

    Rumor I've heard is everybody but John Bonham (obviously) - the drummer
    in the reunion would be Jason Bonham (John's son).
    
    But so far, my impression is that this really IS just a rumor.

    ... A rumor that has surfaced many times, starting with the "reunion" at
    Live Aid in 1985. From what I've read in the press, JPJ has always
    balked at the idea of doing anything with a reunited Zeppelin. If there
    is a reunion (and by the way, I believe there will not be), and JPJ is
    absent, it may be more JPJ's choice than Zeppelin's.

    Oh, what the hell. What good is this stuff if you can't occassionally
    share it with others. And how often does this topic come up. Read at
    your own risk...

    After they released their first album, Led Zeppelin's tour brought them
    to Springfield (MA) Symphony Hall. I was in 10th grade at one of the
    high school's in downtown Springfield at the time. My buddy and I had
    tickets to the show so after school that day I suggested that we walk
    down to the auditorium to check things out (peek at the gear, scope out
    the amps). When we got there the place was locked up tighter than a
    drum. We walked around back to see if there was anything going on back
    there but it was locked up too. No signs of life.

    As we stood there thinking if there was anything else we wanted to do
    downtown before hopping a city bus home, a big black limo slid up to the
    curb (I know this sounds like the script to some ZZ Top video but it's
    true). Out of the car jump (literally) all the Zep guys except Page.
    They were jumping around wrastling with each other and carrying on when
    a cruiser pulls up and a cop barks at them to knock it off or there
    wouldn't be any show tonight (yeah, right). At that point Plant walks
    over next to me and says "I think the constable is upset with us" to
    which I replied "duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".

    Immediately, a big yellow Ryder truck pulls up, the loading dock doors
    are opened and load-in commences. After the equipment is moved in, the
    doors were left wide open. So we wander in and quietly sit down about 10
    rows back to check out the scene. I'll be darned if Plant, who's
    wandering aimlessly about, doesn't spot us and come over and sit down
    with us to chit-chat. Budweiser sponsored the tour and Plant starts
    talked about drinking beer and how he's docile when drunk rather than
    violent, blah, blah, blah. While we're talking I mention that we were
    attending this evenings show and that I might have a little something
    for afterwards if they were at all interested [wink]. Plant says "Yeah,
    see me after the show".

    So after a bit, my pal and I head home, have dinner and then go to the
    concert. Afterward the show, we go to the stage door and wait...and
    wait...and wait. I become discouraged when the crowd around the door
    grows larger and I think "Oh brother, this isn't going to work".
    Finally, the boys emerge into the throng of autograph seekers. Plant,
    carrying a dozen fresh longstem roses, spots me and comes over and says
    "See Clive, our road manager" and then sprints to the car. The autograph
    seekers, some of whom I knew from school, stand gawking at me like "What
    the hell was that all about?"

    So the band's gone and the crowd disperses. My friend and I wait for
    Clive to finish up his work and I tell him that Robert had told me to
    see him, etc. He says "OK then, hop in the truck and we'll go the
    hotel". I said, "Uh, we have to stop at my house" to which he
    (reluctantly?) agreed. So that's where we went first. I ran inside while
    Zep's gear cooled it's heels at the curb. Man, this is way too cool.

    So we went to the hotel and believe me when I tell you, they didn't need
    me for and of their recreational needs. It was Plant's room, Page
    apparently had another and never showed his face. Jones, Bonham, the
    roadies were keeping themselves busy with some babes in a darkened
    adjoining room. Plant just lay on his bed relaxing and sucking on funny
    looking cigarettes that we were sharing and talked to my friend and I
    about his family back in the U.K. and that that's where he'd really
    rather be with the "little kipper".

    We left about 4AM. Standing outside the inn, we silently contemplated
    the fact that the buses had stopped running hours before and we had no
    freaking way to get home. Then a young lady with long blond hair whom we
    had seen upstairs came by and offered us a ride. As we rode, she told us
    that her dad worked for Anhauser-Busch and she was tagging along on the
    tour and was going to catch up with them at the next city (Boston I
    think). At that point my friend and I were about as sharp as Beavis and
    Butthead on a bad day so the conversation didn't exactly go anywhere.

    She dropped us off and our rather unusual day finally came to an end.

    It was announced that Plant and Page will get together again for MTV's
    unplugged. They plan on doing new tunes as well as old, with a possible 
    1995 world tour. It is my understanding that JPJ was invited but
    declined, don't forget he is a big time producer now, he produced the
    last REM album.

    One of JPJ's current projects is a "power trio" record with avant-gloom
    singer Diamanda Galas; just vocals, bass and drums.  He's producing and
    playing bass, scheduled for release this fall.  Advanced reports are
    it's pretty intense, with plenty for JPJ fans to feast on.

    Didn't Led Zepplin perform with Jason Bonham at Atlantic Records
    25th anniversary party? Bonham's band released a CD in 1990, I think,
    that was quite good. I believe it was titled "A Momentary Lapse in Time."

    It was all that "Dazed and Confused", "Livin' Lovin'" early stuff from
    the first album. Pretty forgetable in my opinion. They certainly didn't
    impress me in the way many of the other groups of that time did, neither
    live nor on record. (I played the first two albums a few times but not
    much after that.) Early Cream, for instance, which I saw at the rather
    small Psychedelic Supermarket in Boston in early '68 -- although not
    especially flashy visually -- was *very* impressive musically.
    (Especially from about 4 feet away.)

    I'll tell ya, to pull of the sound they achieved last night, in this
    OL' Barn, unbelieveble!!!! Nice, stripped down stage, kinda "theatre
    in the round" stage.....I waited an awful long f*$!ing time to see
    these guys back at it, and it wuz worth every minute of the wait!!
    
    I only wish I wuz going to tonight's show....don't have the set list,
    but they covered most of the Zep tunes from "No Quarter", as well
    as some early bisquits....even did a Cure song ("Spiderman"), as 
    the guitarist is on-loan from The Cure....
