692.0. "Gilbey Clark" by BUSY::BUSY::SLABOUNTY (Trouble with a capital 'T') Mon Jan 23 1995 16:36

I've been hearing a song called "Tijuana Jail" recently.

I know it's a new song, but is the album [and/or band] new
as well? Never heard of him/them.

Besides this song, which is great, how's the other stuff?

Shawn.....Gilbey played with Guns N Roses replacing their original
guitarist.....you shouldn't have any problem finding the release...it's
his one and only to date...he's left GNR and plans to continue on with
his own stuff,......to my taste the TJ song you mentioned is the best
cut....the rest sounds like he was extremely into the Beatles ....one
song kind of sounds like 'sowing the seeds of love' done a few years
back by ???..was it Tears for Fears.??..anyway..the rest of the release
sounds alot ddifferent than the TJ song so go to a store that lets you
listen to the release before buying it wouldd be my recommendation.../k

I think the title of the CD is "Pawnshop Guitars".

I heard a different cut, "Cure Me or Kill Me", a really strong rocker.
I've been tempted to pick this up based on that one tune alone.

rick..yeah, that's the other really strong one on the release....i
liked both of those tunes well enough to pick it up as a stocking
stuffer.......you can really hear the beatles influence in many of the
    other cuts.............../k

Oh, is THAT who this guy is? Huh!!

Well, I guess 2 songs isn't too bad to justify buying it, un-
less those 2 happen to be released as A/B of the same single
[and what are the chances of THAT happening??].

Thanks for the info ... and make sure you listen for "Tijuana
    	Jail", since it DOES rock.

Well, if the rest of the cuts are more 'Beatle-esque' that doesn't
sound like too bad a deal. One of the reasons I held off on it was
that I wasn't too excited about yet another record full of over-the-top
guitar rockers; hey, I'm gettin' old ya know :-)
