625.0. "Tanglewood seating" by TOOK::FINAN (Tim Finan, LKG1-3/A11, DTN 226-7607) Mon Apr 11 1994 13:22

Does anyone know where section
B22 is in the Tanglewood shed ?

    If I recall correctly, seating in the shed is organized into numbered
    sections. Low numbered sections are towards the front (stage), high
    numbered sections towards the rear (lawn). The even numbered sections
    are on one side, the odds on the other. There are no alphabetic
    section identifiers. The boxes are in the center of the shed
    (acoustically best location), and are numbered separately. B22
    suggests box number 22

    Why do you ask?

I just picked up 4 tickets to see Raffi on july 3rd.
Wouldn't you think that ticket sellers should be able
to give a better idea of the location of the tickets
they are selling ? Something like B22 is kind of deceiving,
"B" sounds good, but "22" sounds bad !
625.3Seating planMKOTS3::FERRIGNOMon Apr 11 1994 15:532
    There is a Tanglewood seating plan in the Sunday (April 10) Globe,
    along with the Tanglewood concert schedule.

    Regarding the boxes, if the B in B22 actually means "Box": here's the
    layout of the Tanglewood box section. Each "o" represents a seat.

    The square between boxes 1 and 2 is a big column. Boxes 1, 2, 15
    and 16 are probably the least attractive of the boxes because of this
    column. 22 is pretty good. The seats in all the boxes are lawn chairs
    rather than the hardwood fold-down row seats in the rest of the shed.
    Also, these are the most expensive seats in the shed, at least for
    BSO concerts.

    I just got tickets in the mail to a concert at Tanglewood -- my seats
    are N22. I guess that's the 15th row. B22 might be the second row.

625.6Find Your Section NumberLJSRV2::FEHSKENSlen - reformed architectWed Apr 13 1994 16:409

    Yep, Helen and I just had an offline conversation, and somewhere on
    your ticket should be a section number. Within the section, rows
    are labeled alphabetically, and within a row seats are numbered
    numerically. So B22 is seat 22 in row B, the 2nd row in whatever
    section it is.

625.7directionsMKOTS3::FERRIGNOWed May 04 1994 14:015
    Can anyone provide directions, from NH, to Tanglewood? I know I have
    to take the MA Turnpike heading West, but if anyone has exit details,
    I'd be most appreciative.

    Thanks in advance

    Pike to exit 2 or 1

    I prefer exit 1 myself, and follow the signs, it's pretty easy, and
    well marked....enjoy, Tanglewood is a beautiful spot
