587.0. "Rita Coolidge note" by CALDEC::NUCKLES (client / surfer applications specialist) Mon Jan 03 1994 21:09

In the late 70's Rita Coolidge put out an album. I can't remember the
title, but it had a song on it that contained the lyrics:

    	"close the window,
    	 calm the light,
and it will be alright ..."

Anyone know the title of the song and the album? Is it available on
    CD?

    "We're All Alone"

It may have been on her "This Lady's Not for Sale" album
    but I'm not sure.

BTW, Boz Scaggs also did "We're All Alone" on his
    "Silk Degrees" album.

Are you sure it was Rita Coolidge? There was another woman called
Priscilla Coolidge Jones who released an album at that time. I can't
swear to it but she, not RC, was who jumped to mind when I read .0.

    Re: .2

Yeah, Edd, that was Rita's sister (she married Booker T.). But Rita
did the tune, .1 is correct. Boz Scaggs wrote it (when is he ever
gonna do another good record, anyway?).

There is also a Rita C. compilation CD on A&M as part of that
purple-covered "25th Anniversary" series. I'm sure it would have that
tune, since it was her biggest hit.

OK, I checked my "The Lady's ot for Sale" album and "We're All Alone"
was not on it. Then I found my 45rpm with the song. It says that
"We're All Alone" is from the A&M album "Anytime...Anywhere" (SP-4616)

Don't know if it's out on CD.

Thanks to all of you. I'll see if I can find the "25th Anniversary" CD
    set.

She did a song back in the late 70's called "I'd Rather Leave While
I'm in Love." Does anybody know what album it's off of, who wrote it
or where I might get a lyric sheet?

I have a demo at home where i'm singing that tune...i've forgotten many
of the words off the top of my head, so i'll listen to it and get back
to you........i'm pretty sure, Coolidge only recorded this song as i
    believe it's an older song.............../k
