| Rainer,
Thanks for putting that in. I like your sense of humor. I'm still
rolling from that false #1! Ever consider stand-up comedy?

Any Top 100 that doesn't include The Cars' debut album isn't
a real list.

Have anyone seen any similar best-100 posting in US ?
if yes, please post it.
It should be obvious that German's best-100 and US best-100 are quite
different apart.

Any top-100 list without ANY Genesis album is no list.

| I'm kinda happy to see 7 or 8 of my top 25 within this lists
top 25 including a couple of Hendrix disks. It's also nice to
see people are still into Sly. He may have turned out to be
a screw ball but man I sure enjoyed his work.

Agreed. Something's *very* wrong. Maybe it's the 60's/70s bias of the
list - I certainly don't have too much dtuff from the 80s and 90s.

previous time in life!)

Of course something's wrong. I mean come on - Hendrix in the top 3
spots? Nothing against his music, but it's patently silly to give the
top 3 spots to one artist, what with so much to choose from out there.
I hate lists that climax like that one... makes me think somebody's
got some kind of agenda.
Speaking of lists, anybody ever read the Rolling Stone "Best of the
Year" lists? Every year I find... the reader's awards always stink...
the RS critics' lists make the readers look profound... but the artists'
favorite album lists are always full of great choices. Kind of weird,
I guess I had hoped for more from the readers (don't laugh - I know its
only Rolling Stone).

re: .9
A friend of mine was stationed at Ramstien (sp?) Air Force Base is
Germany. One of the things that he mentioned was that many of the
natives were wearing tie-die and headbands... stuck in the 60's? 8)
I have ~25% of the albums listed, but probably have 90% of the "hit"
tunes off the LPs listed. My switch from vinyl to CD required
purchasing a lot of compilation and greatest hits collections.
I think the emphasis in the title of the basenote should be on the
question mark.
