510.0. "Steve Forbert" by BONNET::MAUFOUX () Tue Oct 05 1993 06:26

I heard there was a greatest hits CD out, I think the title is
        "What kinda guy ?".
Could somebody list the song titles on this disc ?
This CD is available in France only through import, which makes it
moreexpensive. CDs are already so much expensive here.
I also would like to have in this note Steve's discography.
I thank you all in advance.

I've always like Steve Forbert, from the first time I heard "Romeo's Song".
I've seen him several times live, and he's never failed to put on a good
show.

I'm not familiar with all his albums, but a couple titles include "Alive On
Arrival", "Jackrabbit Slim" (is that right?), "Streets Of This Town", and
the unjustly ignored "The American In Me" (which I liked a lot).

I've never seen the greatest hits package, so I don't know the songlist.

Re: .0

You heard right, I've got the CD. It's called "What Kinda Guy?", and on the
cover it says "the best of Steve Forbert". It has 19 songs, and runs 77
minutes in length.

"What Kinda Guy" is a collection of studio material, live tracks, and never
before released recordings. It has some pretty decent liner notes too,
telling the history/story of Steve Forbert's early years.

IMHO, this is a GREAT CD, easily my favorite Steve Forbert recording (and I
usually don't listen to 'greatest hits' collections). If you're a Steve
Forbert fan, I HIGHLY recommend it!
