Are there any erasure fans out there, if so does anyone know if they
are making a fourth coming album and what it might be called.

    Cheers John.

    YES! Erasure roolz!

Do you like the ABBAesque album?? That seems to divide the hard core
Erasure fans down the line. I personally think it's a great album!

I thought they had a few more than 4 albums out already.

    Wonderland
    ???Circus??? or something
    ?The innocents
    Wild
    Abbaesque

plus a greatest hits and another dance mix ep

I like Abbaesque. I wish there were more than 4 tunes and I wish they
had put their version of Abba's "Gimme, gimme, gimme" on it as well.

439.3A slight misunderstanding.FILTON::PONTER_JMon Jun 14 1993 12:4515
    re .1 & .2

Lets start from scratch, I have been a big fan since Sometimes was
released and have bought every album and E.P. since, including The Two
Ring Circus and Crackers International and two video, I also went to
see them in concert in Shepton Mallet about two years ago when wild
was the current album. They put on a brilliant show and I would see
them again given the chance. Is there really an album called erasure
roolz or is that your way of showing support for this great group, you
will have to exscuse my grammer is not very good I ment forthcoming.

Thats all have time for, bye.

    John.
    forthcoming.

What kind of music is this? Pop? EZ Listening?

And is "ABBAesque" an ABBA tribute?

My colleagues call it Beep-Beep-Music, they obviously don't know talent
when they hear it. Its electronic pop and ez, good to bop to.
ABBA esque is a tribute, I don't think much of their Voulez Vous
version, but there's no doubt the whole ep is a brilliant cover, I only
wish they could have covered a load more ABBA hits. As we've been
talking about Abba, does one assume that there is a large following
within the DEC organization and should we be creating a conference on
    this cult aswell.
439.6say it ain't so, JoeCSC32::B_KNOXRock'n'Roll RefugeeMon Jun 14 1993 19:156
Do you mean that someone had the bad taste to put together
a "tribute" (not the word I would choose!!) to ABBA (this is
the same ABBA that did "Fernando" and other irritating twaddle
back in the '70's ???) ... Please, say it ain't so!!

    >>>Do you mean the whole 1992 ABBA rebirth thing passed you by?

Thankfully, yes, it seems to have passed me by.
I know we seem to be going through this '70's revival thing
lately, but ABBA ... Pahleeez!!! What's next ... a Shawn Cassidy
revival??? Is this ABBA thing meant as a joke (like, maybe the
Butthole Surfers doing ABBA covers with puke noises)???

    >>>You are the person PR folk worry about.

       I certainly hope so !!!!

Yo rock'n'roll refugee, you obviously dislike this type of music, so
why bother being apart of the subject. I could easly slag off your
type of music, but I'm more mature to behave like a mooron.

Oh bye the way this was a conference on ERASURE!!!

    Hey,

I never slagged ERASURE (I never even heard of them). I'm just amazed
that anyone would even consider serious covers of ABBA.
As to your maturity and behavior, I guess that's up to interpretation.

Well, I for one always have liked the ABBA sound. Like many groups, they don't
have a wide variety of styles, nor do their songs tend to be very "serious," but
so what? They make/made music which I and lots of other folks enjoy. That doesn't
take away from my enjoyment of other groups or styles.

I could never understand why or how anyone can work up such an active *dislike*
for a given group or style. If you don't "get it" (shades of another note from
long ago...), just do a NEXT UNSEEN, please.

Jeez... Lighten up, guys... It's only music!!

Although I dislike ABBA, I don't necessarily dislike those people
who like ABBA. It's not a mutually exclusive situation. It's also
possible to do great covers of saccarine-pop oldies (Soul Asylum does
a great cover of "Too Sir With Love"). So who knows... I may even like
ERASURE's covers of ABBA (although I doubt it, I'd be willing to listen).

    Guys,

I haven't set any notes hidden, but the next directly targeted insult
    probably will.

Air your differences in a reasonable manner by all means, but don't
turn this into a name-calling, insult-throwing contest. The rest of us
    have better things to read.
