364.0. "music club that sells 45's" by MIMS::SMITH_M () Fri Feb 05 1993 12:48

Does anyone know of a music club that sells new and old 45's? I am
starting a DJ business and need some music in this form.

    Thanks

I don't know what area you live in, but in Manchester, NH there is a
store called (appropriately enough) "Manchester, Manchester." It's in
a small strip mall near the Mall of New Hampshire on South Willow
Street. It's in front of HQ home center. They sell used records,
tapes and CD's and it's the best place I know for 45's in this area.

I'll vouch for Manchester Manchester, however Richard (the owner) gets
"all the money" for 45's. He gets between $1.50 and $3 per disc... too
much IMHO. MM has the largest vinyl selection north of Boston though.
You can find the "hard to find (on vinyl)" there. By the way,
Manchester Manchester's name was derived from its original store-front
location on Manchester Street in Manchester.

Manchester Music has 45's for between $.25 and a buck... they're
one of the largest vending companies in the area and have quite an
inventory as they have the "old" style jukeboxes as well as the newer
    CD jukeboxes.

    Good luck!

While we're on the subject, there's a mail order company called
    Nina's Discount Oldies. I think they're in Penn. I have a catalog
in my office... unfortunatly I'm at home right now, but will post
    the address on Monday.

    Thanks Tim!

I am in Atlanta. We have several stores that sell new and used 45s.
The problem is that they are not organized very well. You just have to
search thru rack after rack until you find what you are looking for.
I would appreciate the address for Nina's!

In the same regard, are there any stores/clubs that BUY old 45's? I
have a paper bag full that I bought about 15 years ago. Among the
records is one by "THE SILVER BEATLES" stating that lead vocals are
done by JOHN LENNON. They're not in mint shape, but may worth some-
    thing to a collector (?)

Remember: DON'T WORRY, RELAX, LISTEN TO SOME OLDIES AND HAVE A
HOMEBREW!!! IF DESPERATE, FORGET THE OLDIES!!! As you can see,
I don't read these notes very often!
