309.0. "Ron Wood" by NCBOOT::HARRIS (oooppps) Fri Oct 16 1992 15:50

    so, has anyone bought or heard ron wood(s) nee release?
    there was a review on th local free paper here. the reviewer was
    pleasantly surprised at the sound of the release.

    since i've always had a soft spot for the stones....i thought i'd give
    this a shot. and no, i'm not expecting a stones sound - just a good
    rock'n'roll record!

    i just ordered it from noteworthy, so i guess i'll find out next week.

309.1It is WOOD, not WOODSWEORG::WIEGLERMon Oct 19 1992 12:0613
    No, I haven't heard it yet either, but a reviewer in the Boston Globe
    thought it sounded like Wood never had so much fun. In contrast, he
    thought that Keith Richard's new solo album sounded like he was just
    passing time waiting for the next Stone's project.

    I *love* Ron Wood's solo album from a long time ago called
    "I've Got My Own Album To Do." If you're a Ron Wood fan and you've
    never heard that one, look for it (if it's still in print.) It
    probably dates back to the late 70's.

    I'm gonna gonna pick up his new one.

    Don't forget "Gimme Some Neck", a Ron Wood album from the late 70s
    featuring Charlie Watts.
