291.0. "Annie Lennox" by SMURF::LONGO (Mark Longo, USSG) Thu Aug 27 1992 15:52

	I couldn't find an Annie Lennox or Eurythmics note, so I'll start one.

	Did anyone see her on MTV unplugged last night? I liked what I saw
but missed most of the show. Of what I saw, she did stuff from her new
album "Diva", and a respectable cover of the slightly obscure Beatles song
"Don't Bring Me Down". It's not one of their better tunes, IMO, though she
gave it an "interesting" treatment.

	BTW, this unplugged show was taped in Europe. The show seemed as
little more formal than other unplugged shows I've seen. Also, it was before
a rather larger audience than usual.

	Does anyone know if this show will be re-broadcast?

re. -1 Annie Lennox's MTV unplugged was very good. I also saw it last
night. Her cover of "Don't bring me down" was interesting.I think Unplugged
is repeated on Sundays, check your local cablebroker. I also saw Annie
interviewed by Dick Cavet recently, I believe it was on CNBC.

    I liked the show, too. Annie's sensitive voice comes and goes, but
    was definitely "on" for her "Unplugged" taping.

    This topic has not been active for a while so hear goes....

    		I am looking for a disc that has A.L.on it.
    I have heard this a few times on the radio, WBUR in Boston before they
    went to all news on weekends.

    		Anyway I think the name of it is Mountain High River
    Deep and it has A.L. in a live performance doing either Mountain High
    River Deep as a cover or Ragdoll as a cover.

    		I have looked in all those huge reference books at Tower et
    al and all computerized databases I have come across.

    		Does anyone know where I might find this?
291.5Just might be?CXCAD::FERRISFri Dec 16 1994 11:5414

      Re last;

        I might know what you're looking for. A year or so ago I bought a
    CD single that has I think 4 or 5 songs on it. It does indeed have the
    song River Deep Mountain High. It is live and also contains Walking On
    Broken Glass, Here Comes The Rain Again and one or two more I can't
    remember right now. The cuts are taken from her unplugged MTV concert.
    Hope this helps.......

    I belive this might be it!!! I vaguely remeber a reference to MTV for
    this song. Where might I find this disc?

     I'm sure I found it in the CD singles section. If you have no luck
    locating it, I could post the catalog number and I'm sure someplace
    could order it for you.

291.8"COLD"TRUCKS::MORRIS_DFri Dec 23 1994 14:2516
    In the UK Annie released three CD singles all containing the cut "COLD"
    from Diva, each with three tracks from the Unplugged session. Being a
    cheapskate, I bought the Cassingle, which contained the unplugged
    version of COLD, plus three other unplugged tracks.

    When MTV recently repeated the Annie Unplugged program, the whole lot
    went onto cassette. Wonderful stuff!

    I hear Annie is working on her new album right now. The last thing I
    heard, she was working with a large orchestra somewhere...

    Has anyone heard her old compatriot Dave Stewart's new LP? It contains
    great guitar playing, and on many tracks his voice sounds like David
    Bowie (which has to be an improvement on his own ;.)

291.9"MEDUSA" HANDVC::QAWed Apr 12 1995 08:3314

    Her latest "MEDUSA" contains her treatment of oldies like
    "whiter shade of pale" from Procol Harum, "line between
    love and hate" and many others.

    "don't say I love you" is a 1st hit from that record.

    The songs from that album are all Annie's fav.

    Very good album indeed. as classic as "DIVA"
