72.0. "House of Love" by 15646::WILSON (I know Syd Barrett's address...) Wed Nov 20 1991 17:40

    I've heard a few songs by this band.

    Where are they from? What are their influences? What is their best
    material, in your opinion?

    They're English and part of the C86 generation feted by the british
    music press a few years ago . I don't know anyone whos heard them and
     doesn't like them . Their biggest single success is called "Shine on".
    The only other top 40 single thay've had is "The Beatles and the
    Stones" . There are only three L.P. that I know about, the last one
    being a series or outtakes and b-sides . They're all very good.

    Another good song on the same album as Shine on is I Don't Know Why I
    Love You, which must have been a single. Saw them at Reading Festival
    in 89 and although i knew there stuff this made me go out and buy it.
    Strange i read this note i've been humming another good one Christine
    most of the day.

    The House Of Love actually have 4 albums 2 date, each album has the
    completely distinctive title 'The House Of Love'?!.One of their best
    loved songs is called "Christine"and the song "Shine On" has been
    released a number of times. The lead singer and inspiration behind the
    band is a guy called "Guy Chadwick".Overall-well worth a listen!
