    Looking for something?

If you're looking for musicians for your band, try note #11.

If you're looking for sheet music or song lyrics, try note #15.

If you're looking for who recorded or wrote a song, or if you're
trying to locate a recording, try note #19.

    Otherwise, try this note...

This note is perfect for trying to locate equipment ("Anyone

    Mod here-

Please folks, *THIS* is the catch-all note for people who are looking
for something (including information) that is not covered by other
    notes.

The policy of moving notes without notification will continue as I
simply cannot keep up with a few of you who absolutely *insist* on
starting a new topic for every random question you have, even if it
requires little more than a yes/no answer.

Dave, when I first read your note I was very sad. But a minute ago
I found out about 'House of Blues' - Dan Ackroyd's blues bar in Boston.
I might be able to find something there when I drive down for DECjam.

And you should learn not to throw away such precious pieces of junk.
Don't you know that "one man's ceiling is another man's floor" ?
That pin would get you a free dinner at your favourite restaurant ;-)

I called 1-800-295-7044 and got "Your call cannot be completed as
dialed. Call your customer service representative one-o-o-one".
Is this one of those 800 numbers that cannot be accessed from outside
of US ? Althought in that case the message was something like "this number
cannot be accessed from your zone". I still would like to try though with
that dtn that made it possible to call US 800 numbers from outside of US.
Anybody know the dtn ? John ?

8.24BASS TROMBONE WANTEDMASALA::ASHAWWed Oct 13 1993 08:2010
    BASS TROMBONE
    -------------

I am a brass band trombonist and on a recent visit to Australia played
a KING 8B Bass Trombone. On returning to the U.K. I tried to locate one
of these instruments but to no avail (they don't make them any more
    either!).
Anyone know where I might find one?
    I'll be in the U.S. 11/8 - 11/19 (Boston Area) and 12/6 - 12/17

8.30Artist to do t-shirt?NACAD::HERTZBERGHistory: Love it or Leave it!Fri Nov 05 1993 16:2014
My band is looking for an artist to do a drawing for us, to be used on
T-shirts, etc. What we'd like is a mixture of caricature (it should
look like us to some extent) and maybe a cartoon flavor as well. We'd
likely be shown holding guitars, drumsticks, you get the idea.

We're looking for an artist who has experience in this area and is a
full professional. We've already been through the mistake of having
band members, mothers-in-law, friends, etc., take a crack only to have
the delicate task of having to tell them it's not good enough.

Can anybody recommend someone who we should contact? Thanks in
    advance.

I'm looking for a Buffet R13 Bb clarinet for my daughter, who is getting very

model indication, though, that is what it is.

Please send mail to SKYLAB::FISHER. I'm in the greater Maynard area (Nashua,

8.35Looking for album: TimberlineDWTERM::BAYJim BaySun Nov 07 1993 23:1119
I am looking for an album by a group called Timberline. The album
title, and the title song are also Timberline. They were a fledgling
group in the late 70s and obviously never got past that stage. Thier
forte was sort've rock/rockabilly/bluegrass. A very unique and
    interesting sound.

I might never have heard of them if they didn't play at my backwater
college, which had a entertainment committee that specialized in the
obscure (they had Harry Chapin before he cut his first album - for some
reason he never cam back! :-).

My very old cassette is worn down to nothing, but I fear I've waited
too long to try and replace it. Any chance someone might rememebr
them, and have a clue where I might go to replace this album?

    Thanks in advance!

8.58Help ! Have you seen this Video tape ?ICS::JTHOMASFri Sep 30 1994 17:1337

I told a friend that I would enter this note in hopes

of finding a video that is no longer made here in the U.S.

The video he is searching for is SUPERTRAMP "The story so far".

He is a fanatic fan of this group. He has the video "Brother

where you Bound" but has had no luck finding the other.

Has anyone seen such a video in their travels to various

music or video establishments ? Or any other video compilations

featuring SUPERTRAMP. I figure since they were bigger over in

Europe ( I think ) that maybe they still make this Video over

     yonder.

If anyone ( U.S. or anywhere in the world) can help please

send me mail @ ICS::JTHOMAS or reply to this note. This friend

of mine would like to purchase one of these if we can find one.

                                              Thanks,

Looking for a Kalimba (you know, one of those boxes with the metal
tines that you play with your thumbs). Let me know if you've got
    one gathering dust.

P.S. I'm amazed at how many people in the drum departments of Boston
music stores asked me "what's a kalimba". Then again, most of them
    weren't even born in the 60's :')

I would like to find a used Bass amp that is suitable for a practice

with headphone output as well as speaker.

I'm not looking to spend a lot of money as I'm not sure how long he is
going to stick with it. If he does, then I'll buy him a real good amp

I'm looking for an ARP PRO-SOLOIST. This is a 1 oscillator, preset (I
think 40 presets) mono, lead-synth, as used by Tony Banks of Genesis,
    during the '73-77 timeframe...

the Pro-Soloist is not the same as the Soloist, I guess I'd be
interested in checking out one of those as well, but looking more for
