    I am looking for an OB/GYN with the emphasis on GYN. Currently I am
    with Dr Alan Green's office and need a place where I feel that the
    issues of non-child bearing women are as important and real as those
    of fertility, prenatal care and childbirth. 
    
    I also prefer someone that is more personal, that doesn't feel like 
    a big "corporation" with a complex structure that makes it necessary to
    be on a "call-back" list for three months waiting to be "offered" an
    appointment date and time for an annual exam. I need more input to my
    care. 
    
    This doctor would also have to be a member of Healthsource and in the 
    Nashua area. Am I asking tooooo much?

    Hi, Michele.  I don't think you are asking too much!  I shopped
    around for a physician for almost a year until I found one that I like.
    I found her (at Lahey Hitchcock Clinic) by making my requirements known.
    It took a while, but I finally a physician who is on my wavelength.

I used her a while ago, and really liked her, and then she wasn't offered
by Healthsource.  I've heard that she's now a member.  She's in Nashua,
and is affiliated with St. Joseph's Hospital.

    I have received wonderful recommendations for doctors and have finally
    made a decision. I have an appointment with Dr Kassab at the end of the
    month. I will let you know my first impressions.

    I am looking for recommendations for a doctor specializing in sinus
    ailments, preferably in the Nashua area but not necessarily.
    
    What would be especially welcome is hearing about a doctor who is
    especially good at diagnosis of sinus conditions.

    I've seen each of the doctors at Allergy & Asthma Specialists (formerly
    Allergy and Immunology Associates) in Nashua, 881-7433.  I've seen Dr.
    Beaucher most often, but also Drs. Melamed and Stone.  With their help,
    I was able to control sinus headaches and breath through my nose for
    the first time in years.  I recommend them.

    I highly recommend Dr. Butler (associated with Healthsource and Optima
    Hospitals).  He has treated my son for ear infections (tubes twice)
    and he operated on me for a turbinate reduction.   It is so nice to
    be able to smell and breath!!

I had seven years of almost constant sinus infections and saw numerous doctors,
including several GPs, ENTs, and allergists (including Beaucher, mentioned in a
previous reply).  None of them were able to help me get anything more than very
temporary relief.  About a year ago, I was referred to Dr. Byer (who I'm pretty
sure works with Dr. Butler mentioned in another previous note).  He diagnosed 
several anatomical problems and corrected them with surgery.  Following this, he
tested me for airborne allergies (none) and food allergies (lots - wheat, milk,
eggs, and corn).  While many allergists do not believe in food allergies other 
than those that cause anaphylaxis - those are hard to ignore - Dr. Byer and his
associates both test and treat food allergies.  By modifying my diet and getting
a weekly shot to try to desensitize me (which seems to be working, slowly), I have
had only one sinus infection in the last year (now - nuts!), and do not have the 
constant ear pain that I had all seven years.

If you can, see Dr. Byer.  He's thorough, listens to you, returns phone calls faster
than any GP I've ever had, and knows his stuff.

I am looking for recommendations for an OB/GYN with the emphasis on GYN.
My needs are regular routine care.  I was spoiled years ago by a doctor
who was professional, personable, and warmed the instruments before the
exam.  I'd like to find another one like her.  Gender is not a criteria.

I live in Windham, so the local area includes Windham, Salem, and Derry.
