283.0. "Is snmp singal threaded?" by CSC32::A_LICAUSE () Wed Mar 12 1997 13:55

    Can anyone tell me if the snmpd is single threaded on DUNIX?

    Can anyone speculate as to whether or not other snmpd
    implementations may or may not be single threaded.

    I'm wondering if multiple systems are trying to issue snmp requests
    to the same system, what would be the results? It seems that a
    busy single threaded daemon would end up ignoring other requests if it
    could not satisfy them?

    Speculation please...

    Thanks,
    Al

Answered in Digital UNIX.

Yes it's single-threaded, and due to its design there is no
issue with multiple managers accessing the same host, or with
losing messages.
