1265.0. "Discharge during Pregnancy" by VOLKS::WEYANT () Fri Jan 17 1992 15:59

I'm 4 months pregnant and have felt great up until this morning. I got
a big scare! Shortly after coming out of the shower, I had a gush of
yellow, mucus discharge.

I immediatly called my Dr. She said it was common to have discharge during
pregnancy. She would like to see me tomorrow for a check-up. She tried
to reassure me that everything was ok, however she did seem a bit surprised
that it came gushing out - which makes me nervous.

There has been no bleeding, pain or any other symptoms. It has not happened
again since then, but it still makes me worried.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this during pregnancy (maybe
to ease my mind).

Thanks,

First order is always: don't panic, call the doctor. You've done
    that.
The fact that there was no blood should already be a big relief.
What you may be experiencing is a yeast infection. I was plagued by
that in the first pregnancy (doctor said that women prone to them
will be most likely to get them during pregnancy), but this second
time I do not have nearly as much discharge problems, and no yeast
    infections at all (yay!)
Discharge is quite normal during pregnancy, so again, don't panic.

I am about 21 weeks along, and have also had discharge. It is normal.
Somedays I don't notice it, other days it seems like alot. I'm
sure your doctor will reassure you tomorrow after he/she has
checked things out. Unfortunately, I did have a yeast infection
this pregnancy. I was fortunate the first time and didn't get any.
But it sure isn't fun. Just relax and wait to see what the doctor
    says.

    Good luck,

Well, I have the same type of discharge and will predictably notice it
a day after my husband and I have sex (sorry for being so indiscrete).

I have discharge throughout both my pregnancies. I was told
that as long as there is no blood in it, it is fine.

Do talk to your doctor, however, to ease your mind.

The doctor will want to check it out to make sure it isn't an
infection of some kind, but it's probably normal.

I had so much discharge during the middle part of my last
pregnancy that I had to wear sanitary pads most of the time. It
was nearly as heavy as menstrual flow sometimes. It turned clear
rather than yellow after sexual activity.

Just wanted to say thanks for your replies and for the reassurance!

The Dr. did her checking and everything is fine (no infection).
