245.0. "Kids Port listings" by CLOSUS::HOE (Daddy, what is war?) Sat Aug 11 1990 14:34

Fellow travelers will appreciate this note. While we travelled
the last few years, we came across several airports that had a
Kids Port. The Kids port provides a place that infants to
toddlers can play and roam around without much danger.

Some Kids port are fee paying while other areas are free. Still
it's a great place to keep the kiddo entertained while witing for
that inbetween flight. We have waited for 5 hours at Logan so we
can speak from experience how much we appreciated the Kids Port.

Pittsburgh Airport has a Kidsport which is free and wonderful. They
had the best toys, and also an indoor playground area where you
can watch the plans take off. There was a bathroom with a booth
    for nursing moms to.

I think I would even like to rest there if I didn't have any kids.

I'll tell you who needs one of these...JFK in NY. We waited 4-6
hours there. What a Zoo. There are homeless people wandering around
    etc.

We are going to transfer the flight in Atlanta and have to wait
for 2 and 1/2 hours. Are there any place for kids in Atlanta airport?

    	Thanks,

Well, I just called the Atlanta Commissioner of Aviation's office and was told
that they don't "but it sounds like a good idea" <sigh>. You'd think that an
airport of that size and traffic would be better equipped for such things.

FWIW, she did mention that there is an arcade ($$$) and that they (not certain
if this was the individual airlines or the airport itself) also do tours.
