8.1Right StartTCC::HEFFELCogito ergo spud - I think therefore I yam.Wed Jun 06 1990 18:1110
	Right Start has toys, baby gates, bottle warmers, books, bottles,
just about everything you can imagine needing for an infant or toddler.

	Their prices run about average to a little high as far as I can see,
but I found things in this catalog I could find nowhere else, so cost was no
issue at the time.

	To receive the catalog call 1-800-LITTLE-1.

8.2"Perfectly Safe"TCC::HEFFELCogito ergo spud - I think therefore I yam.Fri Jun 08 1990 13:3525

	I received a catalog for "Perfectly Safe: The Catalog for Parents
Who Care".

	They have mostly saftey items like baby gates, door latches, potty
latches, outlet covvers, plug guards, cushions for the corners of tables,
nightlights, child bike helmets, life jackets and so on. They also have a
few items like booster seats, a dishwasher nipple rack, and so on.

	I have not ordered from them so I don't know how good their service
is or what the quality of the merchandise is. Their prices tend to be about
average for the things that I've seen elsewhere. Plus they have things I've
not seen anywhere else.

           -< The Mail Order Shopper For Parents (newly published) >-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
   Just picked one up this weekend that looks good, and thought you
   would like to know about it:

        "The Mail Order Shopper For Parents"
        - by Hal Morgan
        published by Doubleday, January 1990
        ISBN 0-385-26389-9

   It sells for about $15 in the US. It's focus is products for
   children and parents. Its about 220 pages long, and lists hundreds
   of companies that do mail-order - including name, address, phone
   number (800 # when available), which catalog to ask for if they
   have multiple catalogs, the price of the catalog, and a description
   of the types of products that children and/or parents would want
   the catalog for.

   There is a decent index, and the companies are listed by category -
   everything from art supplies to maps to parents magazines to toys.
   And the cross referencing within the book is pretty decent -
   catalogs that fit into multiple categories are cross referenced
   appropriately.

   All in all, pretty good, I believe.
