360.0. "Thanks and goodbye!" by COOKIE::SANDERSON (What's the anti-matter?) Tue Mar 31 1992 21:39

Well, I've been a mostly read-only participant in this notes conference
for several years. But in about a month, I'm leaving Digital for a new
    job and company in Minneapolis.

I just wanted to say that I've enjoyed reading this conference (and
also, the rec.nude archives in REC_NUDE, thanks, Neil). I have never
had the opportunity to be in a social naturist setting, but I'm hoping
to someday soon. I've already been in contact with someone from
Minnesota Naturists, and they seem to have a number of activities every
    month in the Minneapolis area.

Several months ago I showed my wife some "representative" notes from
this conference. She was rather fascinated albeit a bit aghast that
"Digital people actually do this!". I'm hoping that after we move she
    and I can attend a naturist event/location/beach together. She's a
pretty open-minded gal, but her only formal exposure to CO activities
has been what I showed her from this notes conference. Any suggestions
    for me would be appreciated!

Thanks again and happy nuding to all!

    Dan,
The desert reef is only 45 minutes away and is at least one place to
discuss with you wife as a place to visit. We haven't had any hot tub
partys here in the springs for a while maybe we could throw one
together before your scheduled departure. Myself I coulden't think of
a better first naturist experience than one with the DEC naturists
I have met here in Colorado Springs as well as those visiting from
afar. The woman I am currently seeing is also new to naturism she
is looking forward to her first time but is still a bit nervous too.

My guess is the best way to get started is to visit a CO place like the
DRBC, Valley View, etc and just have a look around you still have the
option of remaining dressed while you ease into the feel of the
    surroundings.

Feel free to contact me if you'd like,-j

Darn Jerry! Even if we didn't get together that much we will miss you around
here. Now maybe we can make it to VV together without worrying about you
having to get some sleep on Saturday mornings before driving there. :-)
Please keep in touch.

I am leaving Digital after 18 years. I met a lot of people
during that time both in person and through these notes. This is
the best way I could think of to let you know I will remember
you.

I'd like to let everyone in Naturism know that I will be leaving DEC
on January 1st (although my last physical day in the office will be
12/23), via the DEC Engineers into Education program. This is a program
intended to help people with technical backgrounds make a career change
into teaching, or other education-related jobs. I'll be going to grad
school part-time during the summer, and full-time for a year, starting
next fall. Should be fun with two kids!

This is a completely voluntary decision, and comes at a pretty strange
point in time, considering the ongoing layoffs and our upcoming "new
arrival" in February :-) It's a little scary, but it feels like the
right time to make a change. I don't even know exactly what life will
be like two years from now, but I'm willing to wait and see! Very
    unusual for me :-)

Hope to see some of you in the future (either with or without clothes!)

    Deb

To all my friends, this is it. Sooooo Long (at least within
Digital).

To all of you that I have gotten to know with all your inhibitions
removed and through Rdb, Bicycling, Environment and Population
interests -- Thanks, and it's been great. Best of luck to you all.

If you might like a copy of my resume, see OASS::JOBS note 4397.
Lots of Rdb experience.

Am also working on an Environment/Population Resume (which may involve
teaching).

See you on the road or at the beach -- bicycling to ice cream.

Might as well stick my two cents in...

I'm outta here on Friday, having been officially notified this
afternoon. I don't expect to find a new position in the company after
    two excellent opportunities dried up.

It's been alot of fun these past 8.5 years, and I've made alot of
friends through this notesfile and through naturism. I think I've
also grown up and gotten rid of alot of my hangups by my experiences
with the people in this group.

To the Colorado gang: I will be out there soon. My best friend is
now in Boulder and a Springs friend is getting married soon.

those of you who want to reach me after Friday can send mail to me
at: DECWRL::"btw@world.std.com". I'll be logging in regularly.

Thank you all for a wonderful conference.

Of all the things I'll miss from DEC, I'll
    miss the notesfiles most.

Just in case you are interested in staying in touch with an ex-DECcie,
thought I'd post it here. Mike Morgan left Digital awhile back....

Well, it seems like we haven't had any layoffs reported in this file in
quite a while, so I'll add my entry here.

It's been a fun 10 years, folks, but I've gotten the tap and I'm going to
look for greener pastures. I've met some great folks through this file,
and I hope to cross paths with you again in the future. Next Thursday's my
last day (I'm taking Friday off :-).

Anyone who I didn't get in touch with already (most of you) who wants my
address, or anyone who wants to give me theirs, send me some mail.

Freedom in the sun,
Carl

I didn't get the tap, so I did it myself... Today's my last day and this is my
last browse through this conference.

I start Monday at PictureTel in Andover, MA. I've had fun - been here since I
got out of college twelve years ago - but it's time to move on. I hope to run
across some of you at the beach, perhaps at a regional gathering.

If anybody wants to get in touch, my home internet address is:

ralph@maxware.mv.com.

My work address will be something or other @pictel.com. Look for me on rec.nude
and elsewhere along the highway - I may pop up in some surprising places.

Thanks to TFSO, I guess I can come out of the closet!
I'm leaving with no hard feelings toward DEC, It's been a (mostly)
good 15 years and probably time to move on anyway. Hope to see you
all at the beach one day....

360.14Peter Van Avermaet says goodbyePLAYER::VANAVERMAETthis name is personalThu Jun 20 1996 11:1931
I am coming out of the closet, very briefly, before disappearing into the woods.
I am leaving Digital (last day is 27 June 1996).
I am leaving a goodbye note in topic 3107 of Notes-conference Digital, but I
want to write a special word for the DECnudes(tm).

This is the first time I actually write to this conference.

I am the author of a number of site-reports in this conference, which I
submitted anonymously (Port Leucate 224, La Jenny 355, Houstrup 429, La Sabliere
445).

We enjoyed our first naturist holiday in 1989, but I have never come out of the
closet (our parents and some other relatives know about it, but I have certainly
never told any colleague - of course, Neil Faiman knew it, and so did Lillian
Rice).

My dear fellow naturists:
Being nude without feeling embarrassed or guilty is an intellectual achievement
you can feel proud of for as long as you live - even if you do not tell anybody.
You have effectively liberated yourself from the 'common knowledge' that you
*have* to be ashamed and that it *is* a sin.
You have won a victory over the famous serpent, and reclaimed a tiny piece of
paradise.
Besides, it is very practical:
* no risk that some of the white skin is now exposed (and sun-burnt) because you
are wearing your other swim-suit today;
* no clammy swimsuit for the rest of the afternoon,
* no hassle with changing while attempting to remain wrapped in a towel.
Come to think of it, it is simply logical (Mr Spock would approve !): who on
earth would wear clothes for bathing (when they would get wet) or sunbathing
(where the whole point is that you want to expose yourself to the sun)?

As of the end of 13-MAR-1997, Judy Kilgore will no longer be able to grace
the halls of notesfiles within DIGITAL. I am taking a position at Schlage
Lock (a division of Ingersoll-Rand). The job has pretty much the same
function as I have here, Engineering Document Control. I'll be remaining
in Colorado Springs and will have a 4-1/2 mile longer drive into my new
workplace than to CXO. So far I do not have access to e-mail, but when I
get it established, I'll let Neil know and he can pass it on to you all.

I already did this part four years ago when I left DEC,
now I'm leaving the company that I joined after I left
DEC on December 7, 1992 (Pearl Harbor Day). This probably
means I won't be back in a Digital facility for a while,
if ever. It's been fun, folks.
