| Well, this response is a little late for Len, but I just returned from
Saint John.
Honeymoon Beach, which is located about half way between Cruz Bay and
Caneel Bay is said to be clothing optional. It certainly was while we
were there in late November this year.
The beach is about a hundred yards long, with nice white sand. The
water gets deep fairly quickly. Waist deep is not far off the beach.
At high tide there is only a narrow strip of beach, maybe three feet
wide in places, but at low tide the beach is 15 or more feet wide. This
in an area where the differnce between high tideand low tide is about
1 foot.
It was not crowded, most of the folks there seemed to
have come ashore off boats, but I did see a couple of locals.
We dropped the anchor about 150 yards off the beach on Sunday, in forty
feet of water and used the skiff to go ashore. On Sunday we swam around the
boat, and also at the beach itself. We spend a good amount of time in
the water again on Monday, both near the boat and at the beach.
Monday night we had at least two sharks swimming around the boat. They
were not real LARGE sharks, only about six feet long. I left to come
back here on Tuesday, and there was still at least one shark circling
the boat at 7a.m.
None of saw sharks during the time we were in the water, either near
the boat or on the beach. Maybe this could be another way for
folks to get points on the naturism quiz, eh?
