For the minority naturists in Suffolk,England, there is a very quiet,
deserted beach just opposite the Pleasurewood Hills American Theme
Park at Lowestoft. It is a council recognised Naturist beach, and
they have put signs up to warn the textiles who "stumble" onto the
beach. There are no fences, facilities etc.
Its fine for those of us who want an area without membership fees,
rules, or risk of embarressing the public, but with local authority
and police approval.
You naturally get the occasional "peeper" and couples who feel like
"streaking for the first time", but we just laugh at them (:>
For those who dont know where Lowestoft is, its 80 miles north-east
of London, between Ipswich and Great Yarmouth on the A12.
The last 4 weeks have been most unusual, the temperature has been
up in the 80's, and a good sunblock (factor 16) was needed, especially
with the reflection off the sea and sand. We "caught it" even under
a parasol beach umbrella!

The area is still there (6 years after the previous report).
The notices are still readable - but are getting very worn in the wind.
The best approach I found was driving south from Great Yarmouth, on the
A12 towrds Lowestoft. There is a big roundabout just North of
Lowestoft, about 2 miles before the speed restrictions.
Into the 40 zone, and you travel through a wood . At the end of a wood
there is a free carpark and toilets on the right hand side. Park here,
then cross the road and go down to the beach. Turn left on the beach,
and walk for about 1/4 mile.
The area is between 4 "groynes" (those long bits of wood that stick out
into the sea and stop the sand from moving 10 miles down the coast).
The beach is backed by cliffs - so in a West or South West wind it is
sheltered. The beach area (compared to Studland Bay or ST. Osyth) is
fairly small, and is it is close to both Lowestoft and Yarmouth, and
only 1/2 mile MAX from a car park I expect it gets crowded.
There were 3 or 4 very hardy folks there in a cold Easterly wind at 13
or 14 degrees on Sunday.
