Well.......
I haven't yet seen the movie "The Good Mother", so I should't
be quick to criticise just how much the movie has to do with body-
acceptance. I saw some preview flicks on the tele the other night
and it looked more like a movie on how a mother wants to keep her
child, than on the subject of naturism.
Does the movie have naturists in it ? A nude beach or something?
While we're talking naturism in movies, Neil brought this subject
up in note 108, but since the topic was posted in this later note,
I thought I'd reply here. Neil's note is very enjoyable reading,
for those who might be interested.
I rented a movie this past weekend, that I thought was very
good. WARNING, the subject of the movie is SEX, (relationships, positions,
attitudes, etc), however, they really did a very nice job in showing
a person how to accept their bodies, and had some very general naturist
annotations, such as the most common, being naked outside with nature,
sunning, swimming, playing in the nude, and at the same time presenting
a wholesomeness and very positive attitude about being nude, both
by yourself, and with others.
If I rated movies for a living, I would rate this one as "AA",
Adult Accompaniment. Yes, the movie portrays couples engaged in
sexual activities, but it certainly couldn't be rated pornographic.
Then again, I guess it depends on what pornographic means to each
individual. It is very educational, and definitely not grotesque.
The movie is called "Love Skills".

| Topic 108 is about educational videos. I wanted to focus more on popular
entertainment, specifically movies (or movie videos).
"The Good Mother" is indeed mainly about parenting. The active issue in the
second half was the child custody fight. But I was talking more about the
theme (not visually explored but verbally) of body acceptance. Nor am I
claiming this to be the movie's only or even main theme. Themes, some
deconstructionists might say, are in the mind of the beholder.
By the way, in my view b.a. is not to be confused with naturism since the
latter requires or inspires the former.

| Last night I watched a movie on a French station here in Canada.
It had full front and back nudity frequently throughout the show,
and I believe the beaches used for the set were in Morocco. Although
it was a frech station (limited audience), I was surprised because
it was being shown on the normal cable station and during prime
time. The movie itself had no great plot, and it certainly had
nothing to do with naturism, but in a lot of scenes at the beach,
not only were the main characters usually in a state of undress,
you could see a lot of 'normal' people (people not part of the movie)
in the background sprawled all over the beach, most of them naked.
Something else that will be interesting. I saw the show called
"A Current Affair" last night. They previewed what they will be
showing on television tonight. Someone has set up a 'Nude Car Wash'.
Yes, it's where you take your car through a non-mechanical car wash,
and a bunch of naked girls wash your car for you. It will be
interesting to see how much nudity (if any) the networks will allow
the show to put on the air. Remember, that's tonight at 7:00 PM,
EST.
