    Well,

skirt, blouse, shoes. I really am naked under my clothes :^).

Seriously, I wear very little. I wear the jewlery that I wear most
of the time, glasses (rarely sunglasses - I've never found a pair
that didn't instantaneously give me a headache). I usually bring
a totebag of sorts to carry sunscreen, drinks, and perhaps clothes
in. Usually a towel or something to sit on and/or dry off with.

Watch, thats all ! But I do take it off when I get in the shower.
Though I don't know why, you see its waterproof. ;-)

I experience a feeling of being unbound everytime I take off
my watch, no matter what else I'm wearing at the time.

I also feel shamefully naked whenever I remove my wedding band.

Ain't it funny what associations we have to what we wear?

I always thought it would be a great idea to require warring
armies to wear no clothing. Imagine, no one could tell the officers
from the ranks, and there would be little distinction from the
enemy. After all, we're essentially the same underneath it all
;-). I can't see a war lasting very long under these circumstances.

Ancient warriors used to battle in the nude!
    (ie. trojian war (spelling?))

Sorry if this takes fun out of your theory ;^).

one of the more important things to bring to a northern nude beach
is a wind barrier. This is a long (and wide) piece of cloth with
metal poles that are stuck in the sand. In the beginning and ending
of the nuding season at Moonstone, the wind is quite brisk and cool.
    Brrr.....

Does anyone know to get one of these contraptions?

    Ben,

I'm almost positive I've seen them at sporting goods stores in the
camping sections. Herman's, for one, would be a good place to start.

69.9Coleman 'Fiesta Cabana 2'QARRY::FRANCINIThere are always possibilities.Tue May 09 1989 04:1910
I just picked up something at BJ's Wholsale Club out in Westboro, MA
that just might fill the bill. It's called a "Fiesta Cabana 2", by
Coleman. It basically looks like about 1/2 small tent. It's 54" by
94" by 49" and has a floor. Cost $22.97. It'll solve the one problem
with staying on a beach like Moonstone for most of the day: too much
sun, since there is no real 'seawall' to hide below out from the sun.

Just thought I'd let you know...

yeah, I've seen those things around. I usually don't have a
problem with too much sun. I just needed something to block
the wind so I *can* get some sun. What a bummer...I can't find
    this thing anywhere.

    While I'm here....

There's a company in Ashland, MA that sells beach equipment. That's
all it sells. A catalog was included in the last issue of Clothed With
The Sun. It includes EVERYTHING that anyone might want for the beach,
including special large beach towels with metal weights in the corners
to hold them down. This company sells such a wind barrier, but it's
not as large as I wanted; it's only 30 inches high and 7 feet long.
While it's actually okay for one person, I was hoping for something
    larger.

If anyone wants to borrow this catalog or to order one, send me mail.

69.11Finally found the wind screensCADSE::WONGLe Chinois FouSat May 20 1989 02:5922
Figures that after I order and get the 30"x7' windwall from Beachquest,
I finally find the windscreen I really wanted.

At Moonstone Beach in Rhode Island, there's been some guy selling
them on the beach for $20 or $25. He told me that he's there most
    days.

There's a general store on Matunuck Road called "maroney's".
    They also sell them...$28.50.
The heights are 48", but I'm not sure of the lengths. (12', 15', or
    28'...conflicting stories).

Looking at the windwall from BeachQuest...
It's adequate for one person...comes with a bag with a strap for
carrying. The poles are wooden...probably not good unless I seal
    them against the salt water.

The bigger ones didn't have a carrying bag. The poles are steel or
aluminum. Very big...could protect a group of people. (cheaper!)
