902.0. "A Request.." by MKOTS3::MCCURDY () Wed Jun 21 1995 18:14

Good Afternoon all, It has been quite some time since we have
chatted, and you have missed.. I had the opportunity recently
to meet another feline fancier.. her name is Diane Albert.
(and her husband Steve..) Diane and I met as I was doing
some research for one of my offline endeavors and as we were
speaking on the telephone, I heard a "meow" in the back ground,
and of course our conversation shifted gears to pussycats.

Diane and Steve are currently "parenting" 7 cats who came
to live with them as strays. I jokingly told Diane that
there is probably a sign at the end of thier street that
says" Go to the Albert house, 3rd one on the left.. they will
take very good care of you." The members of the household
    are Mickey 18, Butch, older ?, Timmy, 7 1/2, Lulu 6 1/2,
Doogie 6 1/2 and Joey 6. Emily 5.( They lost Betty, last week
due to asthma, Diane and Steve had purchased a portable
oxygen tank to treat her at home with guidance from
their vet.) They are all absolutely adorable, and very
much loved, I had the opportunity to meet them last weekend!!!
Incredible, Timmy, Butch, andJoey are REDS!!,, the others
    are grey tabbys, and harlquins.

I asked Diane how she managed to keep up,given that their
only income is from the in home business they operate,
she said that she cuts coupons etc for food and litter.
One of the cats, Emily is in diapers, as she has accidents,
(nothing is physically wrong, she just has accidents),
so Diane makes her diapers out of remnants of material.
(and they are tres chic, by the way). Diane has offered
to make diapers for any kitty that may need them.

I was wondering if any of you find coupons for food,
litter, remnants for diapers, etc that you are not using,
if they can be forwarded off to these folks.
I convinced my "girls" to participate, and even
contribute some toys.. allright one member of my
family was feeling "less than gracious,"and retrieved
some "things" back to her cat bed, but substituted
some other toys.. Auntie Marlene Balzer and Auntie Sue
Spingler would be able to guess who that was)

Another need that was spoken of, is that given
their financial circumstances, they rarely go out, unless
it is a low cost event, and( they did find one on Wed. nite
and one Fridays, they really do not like to
leave the "kids" with her mother, who also lives
with them, as she has glaucoma, occasionally a couple
of friends will offer to kitty sit for free. I was wondering if
there were any feliners close by who might help out..
This house has an incredible library of radio and televsion
memrobelia, tapes of 50-70's tv shows, books.. etc..
Amazing, it could be a fun evening !!!!.. I haven't seen
so many celebrity pictures, and tapes in one place in
    my life..
Anyway, if you have further questions, or can assist in any
way heres how to reach Diane.. Thank you all....!!!
    More Later..

What a nice person you are! I cut out coupons and mail them to my
son in Ohio, so I'm sure I can cut out a few for a fellow feliner.

Thank you - we get what we give two-fold!

Kate get side-tracked into talking about kittys??? I get lots of
coupons which I can't use due to Lightning's health and will gladly
forward them. As to having 7 cats - I'm up to 7 myself at the moment
(4 abandonees, 2 adoptees, and 1 purchased from a breeder). I have the
same sign in front of my house complete with a blazing neon light. I
still have some strays outside that come for their twice-daily
    feedings.

Now, if someone could just tell me where Diamond has hidden her

    Hi all,
Diane and Steve and the furfaces would like to thank all of you
for your kindnesses, and she and Steve are in the process
of writing personal thank you notes to all of you. She told
me that she tells each of the furfaces that this mail is
for them from "Auntie and Uncle so-so,, etc.."(That is too
cute. I was visiting a couple of weeks ago,and when I rang
the bell,, I could hear,,, "Come on, Come on Auntie Kate
is here.. I told you she was coming today..lets go let her in
..Everybody ready..!! It was too cute to be greeted by those
little faces,, sort of lined up, or peeking around corners
etc.. Anyway Thank you so much..!!!!

Her name is Deb Kohl of Duxbury.

There is a Kohl listed but not Debs.
