Last night at a Yankee Swap, I the "Jingle Cats" tape I've been hearing so much about. It's Christmas carols "sung" by cats. I brought it home and played it for "Tigger" who was not at all pleased. He sat there for a few seconds, laid his ears back, then ran under the bed. There are also a few dogs on the tape, too, which caused him to back further under bed. I kept telling him that it was okay and he finally crept into the living room, and after he found out there was really nothing wrong, he decided to do his macho schtic; he stuck his tail in the air and pranced around like "Who me? Scared? You must be joking!" It was really funny to watch. And the tape is great. It would be fun to play it at a party with no warning ahead of time. Well, happy holidays from Marilyn, Alan, and Tigger

I also have the Spalla CD. The digitized sound is sample rated at 22 and 44 kHz, so we hear it as perfect cats (as they originally are) but the digitizing on the CD puts the oversampling noise on the track and the cats HEAR that, so they do not acknowledge the sound as a real cat's meow. Well, the cats are superior to us. I love that track, is in my car setereo always. Helps through traffic jams, all cursing and me smiling! Happy Xmas, Nat |
