609.0. "Dr. Mulcahey receives humanitarian award" by AYRPLN::VENTURA (was ::TAYLOR. YYYYYABBADABBADOO!!) Thu Sep 16 1993 14:58

I thought this deserved a note of it's own.

Many of you know Dr. Eileen Mulcahey from Central animal hospital.
In fact, a lot of us have her as our own veterinarian (and I REFUSE to
go anywhere else but Central Animal Hospital).

Well, CFF has an award that is given out every year at our Awards
banquet. It is called the "Grace Cluette Humanitarian award". It is
to be presented to someone who goes "above and beyond the call of duty"
when caring for animals. For someone who has dedicated their lives to
the care and welfare of animals, cats in particular.

Dr. Mulcahey was the proud recipient of this award this year. Some of
her staff members were there with her when she received it. She was
QUITE surprised, but it is DEFINITELY well deserved.

    Congrats Dr. Mulcahey!!!

When did this award ceremony take place?

I can't wait to see her tonight to offer her my congratulations. There
are some neat framed posters in the waiting area(s) and when I asked
Kathy and Sharon where they came from they said Dr. Mulcahy had gotten
them for her birthday!! She is loved by so many.

The entire hospital should receive blue ribbons for their compassion,
caring, dedication and for the love they share with all who walk
    (or limp) through that door.

    Thanks for letting us know!

I made my daily trip to the Central Animal Hospital last evening (to
visit Abigail) and Dr. Mulcahey was on. I congratulated her and she
kept saying what an honor it was and how - when it was announced that
she was the recipient of the award - she was speechless.

She said it was a very moving experience. I told her it was in the
NOTESFILE and she would be receiving more accolades!

I'll pass the congratulations on from Nat&Smokey (Hungary) when I
    go there this evening.

609.5CARING IS HONORED...AIMHI::OFFENFri Sep 17 1993 14:1710
Yes, Definitely congratulations to a wonderful, caring Vet. There
should be more awards like this. My own vet deserves one for the
special care she has given to Thunder over the years. She is a very
diligent, caring, and humorous person. Her love of cats is very
    apparant.

Thanks Dr. Rados for helping Thunder to survive
