424.0. "CHEAP $$$ Portable CD Player Wanted" by LEAGLE::GOLDSTEIN (Outrageousness!!? Just a way to WAKE PEOPLE UP!) Fri Aug 08 1986 18:44

Can somebody direct me to the lowest priced PORTABLE CD players
in the Boston area? I am going on vacation in two weeks and have
finally decided that I do not want to leave all of my beautiful
    music at home. .

    Thanks,
    Rich Goldstein

Service Merchandise in Natick has the Sony D-5 pack for $218 and
the Technics pack for $198. The Sony includes player, battery pack,
charger and headphones. The Technics is like the Sony but no
    headphones.

Bradlee's at the Nashua Mall has one (count them 1) vanilla flavored
D-5 left for $199.95. No batteries...just the ac adaptor, the player,
and an adaptor cable for output to RCA plugs.

Call ahead...D-5s are going the way of the dinosaur!
