220.0. "Aaron Copland recommendations" by ELUDOM::CLARK () Sat Nov 30 1985 14:37

I'd like to add a number of Aaron Copland titles to my CD collection. Rather
than experiment at $12-$15 a hit, I'm looking for recommendations (both pro
and con) based on others' experiences. I'm interested in both performance
and sonic quality.

The Telarc Recording of Fanfare/Appalachian Spring... with Lane and
the Atlanta is quite nice.

    I agree with notes 1 and 2. I own said Telarc disc and I can say
    it is sonically magnificent! The first track is Copland's "Fan-
    fare For The Common Man"; it's a great example of the dynamic range
    available in CDs. A definite must-buy!
